The Houston Tigers capitalized on four Salem Tiger fumbles, scoring on all of them, two on fumble recovery runbacks, to beat Salem Friday night at Houston, 54-12. Tucker Venn and D.J. Riley each scored twice for Houston, while Riley also threw for two touchdowns. Titus White scored for Salem on a pass from Hayden Ragsdale and Rylan Renaud scored on a 42-yard run. Salem falls to 1-2 on the year and 0o-1 in the SCA Conference and they will host Thayer Friday night.
The Salem JV Football Tigers will be at Houston tonight to face the Houston Tigers starting at 6:00. Houston is 2-1-on the year; Salem is 1-0.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers, coming off the West Plains Showdown Saturday, will host Cuba tonight starting with the JV contest at 5:30 followed by the varsity match. You can video stream the varsity match on KSMOradio.com.
The Bunker Lady Volleyball Eagles, coming off a 2-3-1 effort in the Dig-for-Life Tournament this weekend, will host Bismarck tonight with the JV contest starting at 5:00 with the varsity match to follow around 6:30. The Bunker varsity is 3-7-1 on the year and the JV is 1-3.
The Missouri Football Tigers jumped out to a 38-10 halftime lead and cruised to a 52-10 win over Louisiana Saturday at Faurot Field. Ahmad Hardy rushed the ball 22 times for 250 yards and scored three touchdowns, while Quarterback Beau Pribula was 15 of 22 passing for 174 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Missouri improves to 3-0 and will host South Carolina Saturday at Faurot Field at 6:00 in the evening.
The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers last night, 3-2 and avoided being swept. They’ll start a home series against the Cincinnati Reds tonight on KSMO Radio with pregame at 5:50, and first pitch at 6:45.
A trio of home runs lifted The Kansas City Royals over the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-3 last night. The Royals have the day off today.
The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles last night, 20-17. The Chiefs are starting the season 0-2.
