A missed extra point and field goal came back to haunt the Salem Football Tigers Friday night as they fell to Mountain Grove, 14-13. Chandler Gray rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns for Salem who falls to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the SCA Conference. They will host the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles Friday night and it will be Homecoming and also Pink-Out Night.

The Salem JV Football Tigers will be at Mountain Grove tonight at 6:00. The JV Tigers are 4-2 on the year.

The Rolla Invitational Softball Tournament for this past weekend was cancelled. The Lady Tigers finished the regular season with a 7-11 record. They are seeded 4th in the Class 3, District 10 tournament in Sullivan starting Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 where they will play the 5th seeded St. James Lady Tigers at 5:00 .If Salem wins Wednesday, they would play the Sullivan Lady Eagles Thursday, October 11th, at 4:30 in the afternoon at Sullivan. A $5.00 admission fee for persons six years of age and older for each game played will be charged.

After a full week off, the Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers played in the Licking Tournament on Saturday. They lost to Cabool, 24-26 and 12-25; then beat Steelville, 25-22 and 27-25. The Lady Tigers then lost to Summersville, 21-25 and 24-26; and finished the day with a loss to Mountain View-Liberty by the scores of 13-25 and 10-25. Salem falls to 7-14 on the season and they will host Plato tonight starting at 6:00 at the SHS Gym with the JV game with the varsity game to follow.

Parker White’s 33-yard, game-winning field goal with two seconds left gave the South Carolina Gamecocks a 37-35 win over the Missouri Tigers Saturday in Columbia, South Carolina. Missouri quarterback Drew Lock was 17-36 for 204 yards passing with two interceptions. Missouri is now 3-2 and 0-2 in the SEC and they will be at Alabama Saturday night.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 313 yards and ran for a touchdown, and the Chiefs defense forced five Jacksonville turnovers en route to a 30-14 win at Kansas City Sunday. The Chiefs are now 5-0 on the year and they will be in New England on Sunday night.
