Friday night at the SHS Football Field, Seth Stephens rushed for three touchdowns and Jaris Acklin threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns as the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles scored six unanswered touchdowns en route to a 54-7 win over Salem. The only Salem touchdown came on a Chandler Gray 77-yard run. Salem falls to 3-5 on the year and 2-4 in the SCA. The final regular season game will Friday night against Cabool at the SHS Field and it will be Senior Night.

The Salem JV Football Tigers will finish up their season tonight in Salem against the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles starting at 6:00. Salem enters the game with a 4-3 record.

On Thursday night, the Salem Lady Volleyball Varsity Tigers lost in two straight games: 17-25 and 9-25. In the Sparta High School Invitational Tournament on Saturday, the Lady Tigers beat the Forsyth JV: 25-14 and 25-16; but lost to Miller, 12-25 and 20-25; and lost to Ava, 22-25 and 24-26. The Lady Tigers are now 9-18 on the year. The final regular season game will be tomorrow night when they host Cabool starting at 6:00.

Tua Tagovailoa passed for 265 yards and three touchdowns in No. 1 Alabama’s 39-10 victory over Missouri on Saturday night. Drew Lock was 13 of 26 for 142 yards with a touchdown, but threw two interceptions, lost a fumble and was tackled in the end zone for a safety. The Tigers fall to 3-3 on the year and are 0-3 in the SEC Conference. Missouri faces Memphis for homecoming at 3:00 Saturday afternoon.

Ben Street and Andrew Cogliano scored third-period goals, Ryan Miller made 29 saves, and the Anaheim Ducks rallied to beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Sunday night. Alexander Steen and Tyler Bozak scored for the Blues, and Vladimir Tarasenko had a pair of assists. Chad Johnson made 28 saves in his debut for St. Louis, which fell to 1-2-2 to start the season. On Saturday night, the Blues fell behind 2-0 before getting two goals from Brayden Schenn and a single tally from David Perron to take a 3-2 lead, but the Blackhawks rallied to tie the game in regulation and won in overtime, 4-3. The Blues gave up 51 shots in the game Saturday in the loss. They will be in Montreal Wednesday night.
