Sylis Dubois scored two touchdowns, and Brody Ray added another as well as a two-point conversion as the Salem Football Tigers beat Buffalo in the Class 3, District 5 quarterfinal Friday night in Salem, 20-14. Dubois and Ray each carried the ball 16 times with Dubois netting 132 yards and Ray 95 yards, respectively. Quarterback Isiah Young for Buffalo had a strong game for the Bison running the ball 15 times for 128 yards for a touchdown and two-point conversion, plus was 10 of 24 passing for 164 yards and a touchdown. Alton May added 67 more yards on seven carries as Salem will move on to the district semi-final game Friday night at Mountain Grove against the Panthers. Game time will be 7:00 and the contest can be heard on KSMO Radio and KSMO Media. It will be video streamed on MSHSAA.TV and there will be charge to video stream the game.
According to the Salem Athletics Department, Zoey Elliott finished districts by placing 14th overall with a time of 22:12. Her placement qualifies her to compete at the State Meet this Friday. Congratulations Zoey!
The Missouri Football Tigers were off Saturday, and they will host Texas A&M Saturday at 2:30 at Faurot Field in Columbia. Missouri is 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the SEC Conference. That game can be heard live on KSMO Radio.
The Missouri Basketball Tigers will be at Howard tonight to face the Bison in the first regular season game of the year. Game time is set for 6:00. You can hear the game live on KSMO Radio beginning at 5:30.
The St. Louis Blues’ woeful losing streak continues as they fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets over the weekend. The Blues will attempt to get back on track hosting Edmonton tonight at 7:30. KSMO Radio will join this game live in progress following Mizzou Basketball.
It was a close game in Buffalo that came down to the final seconds but the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Bills, 28-21. The Chiefs enter their bye third in the AFC West with a record of 5-4. They’ll be off this Sunday before traveling to Denver the following Sunday to play the Broncos.
