At the Salem High School Thursday evening at the Athletic Banquet, Coach Brian McNamee announced the football players named to the All SCA Conference teams. Named to the 1st All SCA Conference team were linebacker Sam Ball, Offensive Lineman Nate Case, defensive lineman Kolson Seay and kicker Nick Holliday. Caden Camden was the only Tiger selected for the All SCA Conference 2nd team while three tigers were named to the Honorable Mention Team. Those players were defensive linemen Brandon White and Jordan Shults, and wide receiver Boone Schrader. Congratulations Tigers!

Coach McNamee also named his team awards for football at the banquet. The Offensive Lineman Award went to Nate Case, the Defensive Lineman Award went to Kolson Seay, the Offensive back Award went presented to Chandler Gray and the Defensive Back Award was earned by Sam Ball. The Offensive Player of the Year for the Salem 2018 Football Team went to Chandler Gray and Sam Ball was named the Defensive Player of Year.

Salem Volleyball Coach Amanda Walker announced that two Lady Volleyball Tigers were named to the All SCA Conference Honorable Mention Team. They were Faith Roberts and Jana Cook. Faith was also named to the All-District 2nd team. Congratulations Lady Tigers!

Missouri’s defense bent but didn’t break during Vanderbilt’s final drive, and the Tigers defeated the Commodores 33-28 to clinch bowl eligibility on Saturday. Drew Lock passed for 253 yards including two touchdowns and two interceptions on 22-for-33 passing. Missouri is now 6-4 overall and 2-4 Southeastern Conference. They will be at Tennessee Saturday afternoon at 2:30 and you can hear the game on KSMO starting at 1:30 with the pre-game show.

Marial Shayok scored 20 points as Iowa State throttled Missouri 76-59 on Friday in a matchup of old Big 12 rivals. Mark Smith scored 15 points to lead Missouri, which committed 25 turnovers. Missouri is now 1-1 and they will face Kennesaw State Friday afternoon at 2:00 in the Paradise jam. Missouri is 1-1 on the year and you can hear that game on KSMO Radio.

Mikael Granlund scored his 10th goal of the season in the third period to lift the Minnesota Wild over the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Sunday.
Oskar Sundqvist and Alex Pietrangelo scored for St. Louis who were coming off a 4-0 win Friday night against the San Jose Sharks. The Blues will be in Chicago Wednesday to face the Blackhawks to start a three game road trip.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns, both to Tyreek Hill, as the Kansas City Chiefs rolled past the Arizona Cardinals, 26-14 on Sunday. Mahomes now has a total of 31 TD passes for the season. That broke the franchise record set by Len Dawson in 1964 with plenty of games to go. The Chiefs next game will be in Mexico City on November 19th against the LA Rams in Monday night Football.
