The Salem Golf Team finished 9th in District play at the Franklin County Country Club last week. Nick Holliday was the top golfer for Salem as he shot a 98.

The Salem Baseball Tigers will host the Houston Tigers this afternoon at 4:30 in a key SCA Conference matchup at the SHS Baseball Field Complex. Salem enters the game with an 8-9 record and 4-1 in the SCA Conference. This game is a makeup game from March 30th when the game was rained out. The Salem Tennis Team has been seeded 5th in Class 1, District 8 play. Salem will play the 4th seed who is the School of the Osage this afternoon at 4:00 at Osage. The winner of that match will play the top seed, the Jefferson City-Helias Crusaders on Tuesday afternoon at Helias. The individual tournament will be held on Saturday, May 11th at Helias where seeding will be held that day.

The Salem Student Council will be hosting a Fuzz (cops) vs Teachers Charity Basketball game this Friday at 6:00 pm at the high school gym. All proceeds will go to the Loveday family, as Michael has been diagnosed with Leukemia. The entry fee will be $5.00 or adults and for children age 10 and under, the cost is $2.00. Kris Bryant blasted a grand slam and Wilson Contreras homered and drove in two runs as the Chicago Cubs blasted the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday night, 13-5 and a sweep of the three game series. The Cards start a three game series tonight with Philadelphia at 6:10 or right after the Salem Tigers baseball game on KSMO.

Brandon Dixon’s three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Detroit Tigers a 5-2 win over the Kansas City Royals Sunday. Hunter Dozier’s homer in the 8th inning tied the game and sent it into extra innings. The Tigers took two of three games from the Royals. The Royals will be at Houston tonight to start a three-game series with the Astros.

The St. Louis Blues came up big in Game 6 in Dallas, getting goals from Alex Pietrangelo, David Perron, Jaden Schwartz and Sammy Blais en route to a 4-1 win to force a Game 7 back in St. Louis on Tuesday. Jordan Binnington stopped 22 of 23 shots in the win. The series is tied at 3 games and the game Tuesday night will be at 6:30 on ksmoradio.com.
