In District Baseball Friday, the Salem Baseball Tigers shut out the Buffalo Bisons by the score of 6-0. Salem received 14 walks and had two men hit by pitches to go along with four hits. Cody Crocker pitched 5 1/3rd innings of three-hit ball and Brett Fore finished up the game to complete the shutout. Salem will face the St. James Tigers today at 4:30 on KSMO, online at ksmoradio.com and live on Fidelity Local 6 of HD 406. In the other game, Eldon scored five runs in the top of the 6th inning to beat the School of the Osage, 5-4. They advance to face Marshfield today at 2:00, weather permitting. All the games will be played at the Salem High School Baseball Field Complex. There is a $5.00 entry fee that will be charged for all persons age six and up.

The St. Louis Cardinals had a 6-3 lead going into the 7th inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates when the Bucs rallied for five runs in the 7th inning and two more in the 8th to beat the Red Birds, 10-6. The Pirates took three of the four games in the series from St. Louis with back-to-back 2-1 wins Friday and Saturday. The Cards have the day off.

The Philadelphia Phillies scored six runs in the 5th inning to beat the Kansas City Royals, 6-1 Sunday and take two–of–three games from KC over the weekend. The Royals will have the day off.

The St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks will battle tonight in Game 2 of their best-of-seven Western Division Conference Final at 7:30 on KSMO Radio. On Saturday night, Timo Meier and Logan Couture each had two goals and an assist for the Sharks in a 6-3 win against the Blues in Game at the SAP Center. Joel Edmundson, Ryan O’Reilly and Tyler Bozak scored for St. Louis who trail in the series, 1 game to none.

The 2019 Salem Tiger Boys Basketball Camp to work on the fundamentals of basketball will be held May 20th, 21st and 22nd at the Salem High School Gym. The Grades 9-12 camp will be from 5:30 to 7:30 in the evening, while the camp for those in grades 5-8 will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. The cost of the camp is $30 per person and if you want to be guaranteed a camp T-shirt, you need to e-mail Coach Carty at bryan.carty@salemr80.org with your shirt size by Wednesday, May 15th. Forms and money will be collected the first day of camp.
