Four Bunker Eagles scored in double figures and Brennen Meloy finished with a double-double as the Eagles defeated the Cooter Wildcats Saturday afternoon at Van Buren in the MSHSAA Quarterfinals, 64-59. Owen Sanders and Jayton Skaggs each netted 14 points while Brayden Radford added 12 more. The Wildcats also had four players scoring in double figures as they fell to 25-6 on the year. The Eagles improve to 28-2 and will now move on to the MSHSAA Final Four at Columbia as they will face the Faith Christian Academy Knights from the Kansas City area in the state semi-final game at 10:00 Friday morning at the Mizzou Arena. The Knights are 25-3 on the year. Neither team has ever been to the Final Four according to MSHSAA records. The winner of the game Friday morning will play for the state championship on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 at the Mizzou Arena. The loser of the game Friday will play for 3rd place Saturday morning at 10:00 at the Mizzou Arena. KSMO Radio will carry the games Bunker plays in on AM 1340 and 95.7 FM. The game will be video streamed on MSHSAA.TV for $15 per device plus a 75 cent service fee direct from MSHSAA. Admission to the Final Four games is $12.00 per person and only digital tickets are available to the Final Four contests from the MSHSAA website.

In the Class 4, District 3 Tournament in Cuba, the St. James Tigers defeated St. Clair Saturday afternoon, 48-22, to move onto the Sectional contest against the Clayton Greyhounds Tuesday night at 6:00. The St. James Lady Tigers also move into the Sectionals as they beat Cuba Friday night, 39-32, and they will face the St. Francis Borgia Lady Knights tonight at 6:00. Both contests will be held at the Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton.

The Salem Tigers’ volleyball team had eight girls make Academic All-State, including: seniors Taylor Fulton, Jess Fulton, Addison Fulton, Alexis White, and Morgan Hollis; and juniors Josephine Howard, Addison Stewart, and Allison Walters. Congratulations Lady Tigers!

The Missouri Basketball Tigers faced off against the Arkansas Razorbacks over the weekend and fell 88-84 in overtime. The Tigers finish the regular season with an 20-11 record. They’ll enter the SEC Tournament ranked 8th overall and play either Kentucky or LSU Thursday afternoon.

The St. Louis Blues road trip continued last week as they played the San Jose Sharks Friday night. A Robert Thomas wrist shot in overtime gave the Blues a 3-2 victory. They remained in California last night to play the Anaheim Ducks. A trio of goals in the second period propelled the Blues past the Ducks, shutting them out 4-0. The pulling off the four game road sweep Blues return home tomorrow night to face the New York Islanders on KSMO Radio. Pregame coverage starts at 6:00, puck drop will follow at 6:30.
