Senior Madison Woolf scored 17 points and freshman Savannah Manthey added 16 more as the Salem Lady Tigers beat the St. Clair Lady Bulldogs Saturday, 65-61 in the first round of the Class 4, District 9 Tournament. Salem also had contributions from Ashton Bowers with 13 points and Tatum Hatridge with 10 more. The Lady Tigers will now face the 1st seed, the Rolla Lady Bulldogs, at 5:30 tonight at the Union High School Gym. Salem enters the game with a record of 17-10 while Rolla is 21-3 going into the game. There will be a $5.00 admission charge for anyone six years of age and older. The Salem Tigers Boys Basketball Tigers will be playing the Union Wildcats Tuesday night as they Wildcats upset St. Clair Saturday, 40-34. The game Tuesday will be at 7:00 at the Union High School Gym.

Former Salem Lady Tiger Payton Curley scored her 1,000 collegiate point Saturday for Culver- Stockton against Baker in the Wildcats win, 66-43. Curley is the 26th Lady Wildcat to score 1,000 points in their college career and the third girl this season to achieve that goal for the Wildcats. Congratulations Payton!

Ryan O’Reilly scored the only goal in the shootout as the St. Louis Blues Saturday beat the Dallas Stars, 4-3 for their seventh straight win. It is the 3rd time this season the Blues have had a winning streak of seven games or more and that sets a new team record. The Blues will be in New York to face the Rangers Tuesday night. The game will be delayed until after the Salem boys game at 8:15 on KSMO Radio.

The Missouri Tigers lost to Mississippi State Saturday afternoon, 67-63. Xavier Pinson scored 20 points for the Tigers followed by Dru Smith who netted 19. Missouri falls 14-15 on the year and 6-10 in the SEC Conference. They will play Ole Miss Wednesday night at 7:30 and you can hear that game on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals beat Washington Saturday, 6-3, with the Cards scoring three runs in the 8th inning, but fell to the Houston Astros Sunday by the score of 5-4 as Houston scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning for the win. St. Louis is 3-6-1 this spring. They will play Minnesota today.

The Oakland A’s banged out 15 hits Sunday and beat the Kansas City Royals, 10-6. On Saturday, the Royals beat the Seattle Mariners by a 9-6 margin. Kansas City this spring is 4-6 and they will have today off.
