The Salem Baseball Tigers beat Cabool Friday in a make-up game, 10-2. They will open their home schedule as they host the Owensville Dutchmen today starting at 4:30, weather permitting. Salem enters the game with 1-2 record. You can hear the game on KSMO radio and online at ksmoradio.com.

The Salem Tennis Tigers will host Richland tonight at 4:00. Salem plays their matches at the Salem City Park Tennis Courts.

Jake Allen made 33 saves, Alexander Steen scored on St. Louis’ first shot of the game, and the Blues stopped Columbus 10-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory Saturday night. Vladimir Tarasenko also scored for St. Louis, which has won five in row. The Blues also played Friday night against Vancouver and won, 4-1. They will play San Jose Tuesday night at 6:30 or immediately after Salem Tiger Baseball.

Chris Domínguez, Matt Adams and Michael A. Taylor homered for Washington as the Nationals beat the Cardinals Sunday, 4-2. On Saturday, the Red Birds erased a 6-0 deficit against the New York Mets with a seven-run 5th inning for an 8-7 win. St. Louis will play Toronto tonight in Montreal in pre-season play.

The Chicago Cubs scored four runs in the top of the 9th inning to break a 1-1 tie game up, then held off a late charge by Kansas City as the Cubs beat the Royals, 5-3. The Royals finished the pre-season with a 16-13 record. The Royals will open the season Thursday against Chicago.
