Evan Longoria hit a seventh inning home run to break up Jack Flaherty’s no-hitter, but it as enough to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 1-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals who could only muster to scatter six hits against Jeff Samardzija and two relievers. Falherty finished with seven innings pitched giving up just two hits and one walk. He struck out six in the game. The Cardinals finished the first half two games out of 1st place in the Central Division. They will be off until Friday for the All-Star Break.

Anthony Rendon and Howie Kendrick doubled home the go-ahead runs in the eighth inning, plus Brian Dozier and Victor Robles hammered solo home runs as the Washington Nationals beat the Kansas City Royals Sunday, 5-2. The Royals go into the All-Star Break with a 30-61 record.
