Matt Weiters first hit from the right hand side of the plate was a two-run, 11th inning homer that led the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-3 win over the San Diego Padres. Yairo Muñoz had two hits and drove in two runs in the game. The Cardinals will be off today before beginning a three game series in Seattle Tuesday.

Jorge Soler homered and drove in two runs and Kansas City scored five runs in the 4th inning and held on to Beat Toronto, 7-6 Sunday. The Royals will finish their four game series this afternoon at Toronto.

For the first time since 2007, the Cardinals will have only one representative at the All-Star Game on July 9th in Cleveland. Paul DeJung will be on the Cardinal on the team. Second baseman Whit Merrifield will represent the Kansas City Royals for the American League in the 2019 MLB All-Star Game.

St. Louis defenseman Carl Gunnarsson has agreed to a two-year contract with the St. Louis Blues worth $3.5 million Gunnarsson, who would have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, will remain with the Blues through the 2020-21 season.
