Paul Goldschmidt slugged a two-run homer and Adam Wainwright pitched seven shutout inning to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-2 won over Arizona Sunday and a series win. The Cards start a three game series with Pittsburgh tonight at 6:20 on KSMO Radio.

Gordon Beckham’s two run homer capped a seven- run third inning for Detroit as they went on beat the Kansas City Royals in a slug fest Sunday, 12-8 and keep the Royals from sweeping the series. Jorge Soler smashed his 25th homer of the year in the loss. The Royals begin a four game series with the Chicago White Sox tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington has agreed to a two-year contract with the St. Louis Blues worth an annual average value of $4.4 million. The Blues season turned around once Binnington was called up from the minors and finished the regular season with a 24-5-1 in the regular season with a 1.89 goals-against average. Then in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Binnington went 16-10 with a 2.46 goals-against average leading the Blues to their first ever Stanley Cup Championship.
