Braiden Gapsch hit five 3-pointers and finished with 30 points as the Salem Varsity Basketball Tigers beat the Osage Indians Friday night at the SHS Gym, 69-62. Gavin Sapaugh added 19 points in the game as Salem has won five of their last six games and improve to 8-5 on the year. The Tigers will be at West Plains Tuesday night. That contest will NOT be on KSMO Radio due to the Salem Lady Tigers home game against Sullivan Tuesday night.
The Salem JV Boys Basketball Tigers improve to 3-2 on the year with a 61-52 win over Osage Friday night as Walker Smith scored 24 points to lead the Tigers. The JV will be at West Plains Tuesday night at 5:45.
The Salem Tigers Freshman Basketball Team beat the Osage Indians Friday night, 47-32 to go to 4-2 on the year. The Freshman team will also be at West Plains on Tuesday night starting at 4:30.
The Bunker Lady Eagles will host East Carter tonight starting at 5:30 at the Bunker High School Gym. The Lady Eagles enter the contest with an 8-0 record while East Carter is 3-6 going into the game. The Mizzou men’s basketball team opened Southeastern Conference play with a win over No. 22 Florida Saturday night at Mizzou Arena, 76-74. With the victory, the Tigers improve to 11-3 and 1-0 in SEC action. Junior Anthony Robinson II led the team with 19 points followed by Mark Mitchell with 14 points and Jacob Crews with 13 more. The Tigers head to Lexington to take on Kentucky Wednesday night. You can hear this game live on KSMO Radio with pregame coverage beginning at 5:30 in the afternoon.
The St. Louis Blues beat the Las Vegas Golden Knights Friday afternoon on Brayden Schenn’s 3rd period goal with 1:33 left by the score of 4-3; then shutout the Montreal Canadiens Saturday afternoon, 2-0 as Jordan Binnington got his 1st shutout of the season and 19th of his career. Jonatan Berggren and Robert Thomas scored for the Blues Saturday who will be at Chicago Wednesday night. This game will be aired on KSMO Radio on a delay following the Mizzou Tigers’ Basketball game.
In a game of field goals, the Kansas City Chiefs finished the regular season with a 6-11 record after losing to the Las Vegas Raiders yesterday, 14-12. This is the first time Kansas City failed to make the playoffs since the 2014 season.
