Reese Dodson‘s two free throws with 11 seconds left against Fatima Saturday afternoon capped an 11-point run for Salem who trailed by nine points with 1:53 left game to come back and beat the Comets, 69-67 to win the Consolation Championship game. Salem actually started out the game strong and had a 14-3 lead in the 1st Quarter before the Comets came back in the 2nd Quarter and took a two-point lead at halftime. Dodson finished with 21 points followed Carter Chilton with 17 and Lucas Morrison with 13 in the game. Salem earned the right to play for the Consolation Championship by dominating Rolla Friday night, 85-68. Dodson had 34 points in that game followed by Lucas Morrison with 25 and Braiden Carmack added 14 more. Salem is now 8-7 on the year and they will host the Steelville Cardinals tomorrow night.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will host the West Plains Zizzers tonight starting at 6:00. The JV game will be first followed by the varsity game. The varsity game can be heard on KSMO and online at ksmoradio.com. The “Lady Cat Classic” contest with the Licking Lady Wildcats was postponed Friday and will be played this Thursday night at Licking starting at 6:00 with the JV game at 6:00 followed by the varsity contest. Salem is 11-5 on the year.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers lost to West Virginia Saturday morning by the score of 74-51 as Missouri got outscored by the Mountaineers 50-28 in the second half. Torrance Watson finished with 19 points for the Tigers. Missouri is now 9-10 on the year with four straight losses. They are 1-6 in SEC Conference play. Missouri will host Georgia Tuesday night. That game will NOT be heard on KSMO Radio due to Salem Tigers Basketball.

Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues won the Bud Light Save Streak Award for stopping 10 consecutive penalty shots on Friday night. On Saturday, it was the Pacific Division winning the All-Star 3 on 3 competition beating the Atlantic Division by the score of 5-4. David Pastrnak from the Boston Bruins was awarded the Most Valuable Player Award in the game. The NHL returns to regular play tonight as the St. Louis Blues will be at Vancouver to face the Canucks with the game at 9:00 on KSMO after Lady Tiger Basketball.
