The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers battled the Licking Friday afternoon at the St. James Tournament, but fell short to the Wildcats by the score of 79-69. Gunnar Konkel led all scorers with 30 points for the Tigers while Chris Bartling led the Wildcats with 25 points. Salem will play Licking again Friday night in Salem for the Cat Classic. The Salem Boys will play Steelville this Tuesday night starting with the JV game at 6:00. Salem is 0-13 on the year.

The Salem Boys Freshman team will play Owensville tonight at 6:00 in the opening round of the Owensville Freshman Tournament. If Salem wins, they will play Tuesday at 7:30 and if they lose, they will play Tuesday at 6:00. The Tigers would play either Pacific or Union on Tuesday. The game will be played in the Owensville Elementary School Gym.

Colton Parayko scored the first penalty shot goal by a defenseman in the history of the Blues Friday night as St. Louis shutout the Seattle Kraken, 5-0. Ville Husso stopped 27 shots to earn the shutout. Also scoring for the Blues was Tyler Bozak, Pavel Buchnevich, Jordan Kyrou and Brayden Schenn. St. Louis then beat Vancouver Sunday night by the score of 3-1 as Brayden Schenn, Jordan Kyrou and Justin Faulk scored for the Blues who will face the Calgary Flames tonight at 7:30 on KSMO.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday, 86-76. Jarron Coleman scored 17 to lead the Tigers who held a four-point half-time lead, while Javon Pickett, Amari Davis and DaJuan Gordon each netted 12 points. Missouri falls to 8-10 on the year. They will play Auburn Tuesday night.

Harrison Butker’s 49-yard-field goal tied the game at the end of regulation, then Travis Kelce grabbed a Patrick Mahomes 8-yard pass for the game winning score in overtime, as Kansas City beat Buffalo, 42-36, to advance to the AFC Championship game next Sunday.
