The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers received five 3-pointers from Madison Wulff while Autumn Manthey and Taylor Norris each netted 14 points to lead the Tigers to a convincing 57-42 win over the Licking Lady Wildcats in the Big Cat Classic Friday night. Manthey also was the leading rebounder in the game pulling down nine for the Lady Tigers who improve to 10-8 on the year, ending their three-game losing streak. It does not get easier for the Lady Tigers as they will be at West Plains tonight to face the Lady Zizzers. The JV will play at 6:00 followed by the varsity game.

Jordan Geist scored 17 points and Jeremiah Tilmon added 14 as Missouri dominated Texas A&M 66-43 on Saturday. Geist made 6-of-7 shots from the field, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Missouri shot 48 percent from the field (25 of 52) and Kevin Puryear had 10 rebounds to help Missouri win their first SEC Conference game of the year. The Tigers are 10-6, and 1-4 Southeastern Conference. Missouri will play at Arkansas Wednesday night at 7:30 on KSMO Radio.

Carl Gunnarsson scored the go-ahead goal with 7:44 left in the third period, lifting the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night. Vladimir Tarasenko and Vince Dunn also had goals for the Blues, who beat Ottawa for the fourth straight time. Jordan Binnington made 28 saves. Gunnarsson’s goal was his first in 29 career games against Ottawa, and his second goal overall in as many games. The Blues, who are now at the .500 mark on the season, will play the Los Angeles Kings this afternoon starting at 3:00. You can hear that game on KSMO radio stating at 2:30 with the pre-game show.

The Kansas City Chiefs tied the AFC Championship game with 6 seconds left to cap off a 24 point fourth quarter only to watch Tom Brady and Company go 75 yards and score on a two-yard by Rex Burkhead in overtime, falling to New England, 37-31, sending the Patriots to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs finish the season with a 13-5 record.
