Baylee Bilyeu scored 18 points including going 8-8 from the free-throw line to help the Salem Lady Tigers beat the Owensville Dutchgirls, 58-43 in the first round of Districts. Michaela Chilton scored 15 points and Madison Woolf added 13 more as the Lady Tigers move to 12-13 on the season. The Lady Tigers will play the School of the Osage Lady Indians this afternoon at 5:00 at the Rolla High School Gym. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com. Senior Lawson Toman scored seven of his 17 points in overtime and blocked a three-point game tying attempt by Owensville’s Trevor Abernathy in the OT to lead the Salem Tigers to a 71-63 win over the Dutchman Saturday afternoon. Cody Rictor and Jordan Shults each netted 12 points for the Tigers and Reese Dodson added 10 more as Salem is now 8-18 on the year and they will take on the Rolla Bulldogs Tuesday at 5:00 at the Rolla High School Gym in the District semi-final. The 2017-2018 Salem Lady Tiger Softball team was second in Class 3 in team Grade Point Average finishing with a 3.839 team GPA. Jefferson City-Helias was first with a team GPA of 3.90. Also, several Lady Softball Tigers were honored individually and qualified for academic All-State honors. Those girls are Malia Terrill, Alyssa Bowers, Trista Heavin, Brooke Adams, Addie Konkel, Taylor Bradshaw and Alexus Woolman. Congratulations Lady Tigers!!!

Kevin Knox had 21 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 14 and Kentucky made 10 3-pointers and shot 55 percent to blow out Missouri, 88-66 on Saturday night. Kassius Robertson had 26 points including six 3s, and Jordan Barnett had 11 points for Missouri Missouri has lost three straight and is now 18-11 on the year and 8-8 in the SEC Conference. The Tigers visit Vanderbilt Tuesday in the season’s lone meeting between the schools starting at 6:00. KSMO Radio will join the game in progress after Salem Tigers basketball.

Pekka Rinne made 27 saves for his sixth shutout of the season and the Nashville Predators earned a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday. St. Louis lost for the sixth straight game. The Blues have been shut out in consecutive games. They will be at Minnesota Tuesday night.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost to the Houston Astros Sunday, 7-3 to fall to 1-2 on in Spring Training. The Cardinals will play Minnesota this afternoon.

The Kansas City Royals tied with Oakland, 4-4 in pre-season play. The Royals will take on the San Francisco Giants in the desert. The Royals are now 1-0-1 during spring training.
