Kinsey Barton scored 32 points to lead the Bunker Lady Eagles to the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament Championship with a 52-45 win over the Dixon Lady Bulldogs on Saturday. The Lady Eagles defeated a very good Willow Springs Lady Bears team Friday, 56-46 to get to the championship game. The Lady Eagles are undefeated on the year and they will play East Carter on January 5th. Congratulations Coach Marcus Gorman and the Lady Eagles!

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers went 2-1 in the Mountain Grove Holiday Tournament taking the Consolation Bracket Championship after losing the first game of the tournament to Dora. Salem beat the Ava Lady Bears Friday, 54-40 with Paisley May scoring 25 points to lead the Lady Tigers; then beat Hartville Saturday, 54-45 in the Consolation Championship game. May again led Salem scorers with 20 points followed by Clara Ball with ten points in that game. Salem improves to 4-5 on the year and they will host Sullivan on January 6th. Congratulations to Coach Cody Woody and the Lady Tigers on their fine effort in the Tournament!

The Bunker Boys Varsity Eagles have moved to the Cabool Holiday Tournament semi-finals in the winner’s bracket as they beat Plato on Friday, 71-22; then beat Licking on Saturday, 61-31. Brennan Meloy scored 24 points Saturday followed by Brayden Radford who added another 16 for the Eagles who are now 11-0 on the season. They will face Norwood this evening at 6:00 at Cabool.

The Salem Varsity Boys Tigers beat Summersville Friday, 66-30; then lost to Norwood on Saturday by the score of 75-51. Braiden Gapsch led Salem Saturday with 16 points with Lincoln Thomas adding ten more points in the loss. Salem, who is 5-4 on the year, will take on the Licking Wildcats in the consolation bracket of Cabool Tournament starting at 3:00 this afternoon at Cabool. Licking enters the game with a 6-4 record.

The Mizzou Football Tigers kicked off the Gator Bowl by finding paydirt early by posting the first points of the game against the Virginia Cavaliers. The Cavaliers were unphased and responded with 13 unanswered points, defeating the Tigers 13-7. Ahmad Hardy became Mizzou’s single season rushing leader finishing the year with 1,649 rushing yards. Mizzou finishes the season with a 8-5 record.

The St. Louis Blues exacted some revenge against the Nashville Predators Saturday evening after a pair of losses earlier this month by a combined score of 12-4. This time it was an early score from Brayden Schenn and pair of goals from Pavel Buchnevich that sealed a 3-2 victory over the Predators. Tonight the Blues will try to even up their record live on KSMO Radio as they’ll be taking on the Buffalo Sabers on home ice. Pre-skate coverage will begin at 6:30 with puck drop at 7:00.
