The St. Louis Cardinals finished up their four game series over the weekend versus the Cubs. On Friday the Cubs wasted no time getting out to a 5-0 lead in the second. The Cards would score in the 3rd and 8th innings but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome the deficit, losing 3-6. Then on Saturday, the Cardinals would have to come from behind, this time the Card’s late efforts would pay off and they won 5-4. Yesterday the Cards had the early lead in the 3rd but the Cubs would score 6 unanswered points to beat the Cards, 6-2. Today the Red Birds are back home to face the Mets this afternoon. The Kansas City Royals played the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. On Friday, the Royals would go on to have a big six run, 7th inning as they would defeat the Tigers 9-2. Then on Saturday, it would take extra innings, as the Tigers tied up the game in the bottom of the 9th. By the end of the 11th inning the Tigers would score two runs for the walk off victory, 6-5. Yesterday Kansas City would come back in the top of the 9th, scoring three runs for the 3-2 victory and taking the series 3-1. The Royals start a three game series versus the Boston Red Sox tonight at 7:10.
