The Salem Baseball Tigers will start their SCA Conference schedule this afternoon when they host the Cabool Bulldogs at 4:30 at the SHS Baseball Field Complex. Salem is 1-6 on the season. The Salem Tiger Tennis Team will host the Waynesville Tigers on this afternoon at the Salem City Park starting at 4:00. The Tennis Tigers are 3-0 on the year.

Nick Castellanos and Tyler Naquin each hit three-run homers as the Cincinnati Reds pounded the St. louis Cardinals Sunday, 12-1. Carlos Martinez went five innings and gave up four runs, but the cardinals bullpen was ineffective giving up eight more runs over three innings. The loss came after St. Louis dropped a 9-6 decision Saturday as Adam Wainwright allowed six runs and could not get out of the 3rd inning. St. Louis will face the Miami Marlins today at 5:40 with Daniel Ponce de Leon on the mound. KSMO will join the game in progress after Salem Baseball.

The Texas Rangers avoided the three-game sweep by beating the Kansas City Royals Sunday at Kaufmann Stadium, 7-3. The Royals beat the Rangers Saturday, 11-4 as Witt Merrifield and Michael A Taylor each hit their second homer of the season. Mike Minor went six inning and gave up four runs in the win. The Royals will be at Cleveland this afternoon to face the Indians with Danny Duffy on the mound.

The St. Louis Blues dropped both games this past weekend to the Colorado Avalanche, losing Friday night, 4-1 with David Perron scoring the only Blues goal; then losing Saturday night, 2-1 on a goal by Cale Makar with 46 seconds left in the game. The Blues have lost six straight games and play the Vegas Golden Knights tonight on KSMO at 9:15 on a delayed basis.
