The Salem Baseball Tigers are scheduled to host the Thayer Bobcats stating at 4:30. Paul DeJong had the first multi-homer game of his big league career, Luke Weaver held the Mets to one run in five innings and the St. Louis Cardinals beat New York 5-1 on Sunday to avoid an opening three-game sweep. Marcell Ozuna broke out of an 0-9 start with three hits, including an RBI double in the third and a run-scoring single in the fifth. Yadier Molina hit a leadoff homer in the fourth for the Cardinals, his second of the series. The Cards are 1-2 after the series and Miles Mikolas makes his first big league appearance since Aug. 25, 2014, when he starts today at Milwaukee starting at 12:15 on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed pitcher Casey Meisner from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Josh Lucas. Miesner will be assigned to AA Springfield. The Cardinals have also announced they have acquired minor league outfielder Johan Mieses from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for infielder Breyvic Valera who the team had designated for assignment last week. Mieses will be assigned to the Palm Beach Cardinals roster of the Florida State League (A).

The Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox game scheduled for Sunday was postponed due to cold temperatures and wet conditions. The game will be made up on April 28th as part of a day/night doubleheader. The Royals, losers of their first two games to start the year, will travel to Detroit for a three-game series that's scheduled to begin today at 12:15.

The St. Louis Blues are clinging to the last playoff spot in the Western Conference as they lost Friday night in overtime to Las Vegas, 4-3, then were blasted by the Arizona Coyotes Saturday night, 6-0. The Blues will host the Washington Capitals tonight at 7:00 in this last week of the NHL regular season. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio beginning at 6:30 or immediately after Salem Baseball.
