The Salem Baseball Tigers played in the Marshall Tournament Friday and Saturday, losing to Chillicothe Friday by the score of 10-4 before falling to Marshall Saturday morning by the score of 7-2. In the third game played Saturday afternoon, the Tigers fell to Clinton, 7-6. The Tigers fall to 5-9 on the season after the tournament. Salem will be back in SCA Conference play today when they face the Mountain Grove Panthers this afternoon at the SHS Baseball Field Complex starting at 4:30. Salem is 3-0 in the SCA Conference. The Salem Tennis Tigers will be at Mountain View-Liberty today for a match at 4:00.

After a four-homer explosion on Saturday, including two from Yadier Molina, in a 9-4 Red Bird win, Aaron Nola shut down the Cardinals on two-hits as he went the distance Sunday in a Philadelphia 2-0 win to take the series. The Cardinals will begin a three-game series at Washington starting tonight right after Salem Tigers baseball around 6:30 on KSMO.

Salvador Perez hit a 7th inning two-run homer and Brady Singer pitched six innings of scoreless ball allowing only two hits and combining with three relievers to seal the shutout and the win for Kansas City, 2-0 over Toronto Sunday. The Royals took three of the four games with a split of a double header Saturday, winning 3-2 Saturday evening on a homer by Perez after losing the first game, 5-1. Kansas City will host the Tampa Bay Rays in a three-game series starting tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

The St. Louis Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period against Arizona Saturday, then Coyotes scored three unanswered goals to beat the Blues, 3-2. Sammy Blais and Tyler Bozak scored for the Blues who were scheduled to be in Colorado Tuesday night, but a COVID-19 outbreak on the Avalanche has cancelled that game and put the game Thursday night in jeopardy. The Blues have lost two straight and have fallen into 5th place in the Western Conference.
