There will be a Veteran’s Free Fishing Day this Saturday at Montauk State Park. Project Healing Waters sponsors the event in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Missouri State Parks to provide veteran’s free access to trout fishing. Veteran’s must obtain and display a fishing tag that will be given to them at the Project Healing Waters booth. Come and join fellow veterans on the river and talk with members of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing group about their services and projects.

The Salem Football Tigers will be at Houston to face the Tigers in their first SCA Conference game. Game time is 7:00 and the game will be broadcast on KSMO Media beginning around 6:45 with Tiger Talk and Coach Neal Myers. Salem is 0-2 on the year.

The Salem Lady Varsity Volleyball Tigers fell to Owensville Thursday night in four games. After winning the first game, 26-24, they dropped the next three by the scores of 16-25, 22-25 and 20-25. Salem is 1-4 on the year and will play in the West Plains Showdown. They are in the red pool with West Plains, Springfield Catholic and Thayer playing at 9:45, 10:30 and 12:00.

The Missouri Tigers will host Middle Tennessee Saturday night at 6:00 at Faurot Field. Missouri has a 1-0 record. The game will NOT be heard on KSMO due to Cardinals baseball.

Ronald Acuna, Jr. hit two home runs and the Atlanta Braves beat St. Louis, 8-5. The Cards will be in Cincinnati to face the Reds tonight after Salem Football around 9:20, then at 4:45 Saturday afternoon and 11:45 Sunday morning. All the games can be heard on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals will be in Toronto this weekend to face the Blue Jays with a night game tonight and afternoon games on Saturday and Sunday.

The Detroit Lions beat the Kansas City Chiefs to open the season Thursday night, 21-20. The Chiefs play Jacksonville on September 17th.
