The Salem Lady Varsity Volleyball Tigers lost to Sullivan in three straight games Thursday night: 17-25, 20-25 and 11-25. Salem falls to 1-2 on the year with the loss. The Salem Lady Freshmen Volleyball Tigers lost in two straight games to Sullivan Thursday night: 10-25 and 14-25. The Lady Tigers JV also lost to Sullivan: 22-25 and 18-25.
The Salem Football Tigers will host the Knob Noster Panthers tonight at 7:00 at the Salem High School Football Field. Salem enters the game with a 0-1 record while Knob Noster comes into the contest with a 1-0 record as they beat Versailles last Friday, 26-6. The St. Louis Cardinals will host the Chicago Cubs this Labor Day weekend starting tonight with a game that will be delayed until about 9:20 due to Salem Football. They will also play Saturday at 5:20 and Sunday at 12:20 as well as Monday against Washington at 2:20 on KSMO.
The Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals Thursday afternoon in Chicago by the score of 7-1 to win the three-game series, two games to one. Michael Massey went 3 - 3 and also walked for the Royals in the game. Kansas City will be at Detroit this weekend.
The Missouri Tigers amassed 558 yards in offense with a diverse ground control game as the beat Louisiana Tech Thursday night, 52-24. All six Missouri touchdowns came on the ground including two from running back Luther Burden. Missouri will play Kansas State on Saturday, September 10th.
