The Salem Lady Softball Tigers play the Licking Lady Wildcats Saturday at 2:00 at the Potosi Trojan Sports Complex/. The winner will play the winner of the Potosi and Grandview (Hillsboro) game Monday afternoon at 4:30 at Potosi. Due to St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and the Bunker High School Graduation Saturday, the Lady Tigers game will be audio streamed on ksmoradio.com ONLY! The cost of admission is $6.00 per person six years of age and older.

The Salem Baseball Tigers are seeded 5th in the MSHSAA Class 4, District 4 playoff that begins on Saturday, May 13th at noon at Owensville. Salem will play the 4th seeded Cuba Wildcats in the first round. The winner will play Sullivan on Monday, May 15th at Owensville starting at 4:00.

At the Salem Baseball Classic Thursday, The Salem Tigers beat Cuba in the first game, 5-0, but lost to Sullivan in the 2nd game, 10-3. They will play in the 3rd place game Saturday at 2;30, if the teams Friday can play their games.

Jack Flaherty went 2 1/3rd innings and gave up 10 runs on nine hits and the St. Louis Cardinals were swept for the second series in a row losing Thursday to the LA Angels of Anaheim, 11-7. Tommy Edman had a three-run homer for the Red Birds, Lars Nootbaar had four hits, and Willson Contreras had two doubles and drove in two runs in the loss. The Cardinals have lost six straight games and will host the Detroit Tigers tonight at 6:20, then Saturday and Sunday at 12:20 each day on KSMO Radio.

In a slugfest in Kansas City Thursday, the Royals hit three homers and banged out 16 hits, but lost to Baltimore, 13-10. Freddy Fermin and Kyle Isbel hit their first homers of the year while Salvador Perez added his 6th for Kansas City. The Royals start a three game series with Oakland tonight.
