Savannah Manthey scored 19 points, all in the 2nd half including seven in overtime as the Salem Lady Basketball Tigers outlasted the Sullivan Eagles Thursday, 52-46. Ashton Bowers added 11 more as Salem struggled early in the game scoring only 12 first half points. Salem will play the St. James Lady Tigers Saturday afternoon at 3:00 starting with Tiger Talk and Coach Cody Woody at 2:50. The game will be live on KSMO Radio and audio streamed on ksmoradio.com and KSMO Stream Facebook Page. The game will be video streamed on MSHSAA.TV. The winner of the game will play Tuesday night at 7:45 at the Farmington Civic Center in Sectional State play.

The 6th Seeded Salem Tigers will play the #1 seeded Sullivan Eagles for Class 4 District 3 title tonight at 7:00 at the St. James gym. Salem has lost twice to Sullivan this year. The cost of admission is $6.00. KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM) will be broadcasting the game live starting at 6:45 with Tiger Talk, and will audio stream the contest on ksmoradio.com and the KSMO Stream Facebook page. KSMO Media will be video streaming the game through MSHSAA.TV and there is a charge to watch. The winner will go move into Class 4 State Sectional 1 and play Monday night at 7:45 at the Farmington Civic Center vs the winner of Class 4, District 4.

The Salem Park and Recreation Department’s late registration for the Youth Soccer League for boys and girls from four years of age and under, to boys and girls 14 and under ends on Monday. The cost is $45 per child and NO registrations will be taken after Monday. A Men’s Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday at Montauk State Park for men of any age. Two classes in the tournament include fly and bait categories. There will be two winners in each class for the heaviest trout and the heaviest stringer of trout. Winners will receive gift certificates. Interested fisherman can register at the Dorman L. Steelman Lodge. The tournament will be Saturday from 7:30 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon.

The St. Louis Blues beat the San Jose Sharks Thursday night, 6-3 to end their seven-game losing streak. The Blues will be at Los Angeles Saturday to face the Kings starting at 9:00 on KSMO.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers will host Ole Miss Saturday afternoon at 2:30 right after Cardinal Baseball for their final regular season game. Missouri is 22-8 on the year and 10-7 in the SEC

The Houston Astros scored three runs off Adam Wainwright in three innings and shutout the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-0 Thursday. The Cardinals face the Miami Marlins today, then Washington on Saturday followed by the New York Mets on Sunday. You can hear the games on Saturday and Sunday on KSMO Radio both starting at 11:55.

Kansas City beat the LA Angels of Anaheim Thursday, 8-4. The Royals will play the Oakland Athletics today.
