David Perron’s goal in the 3rd period proved to be the game winner as the St. Louis Blues took a 3-2 series lead in the Stanley Cup playoffs as they beat Boston, 2-1 Thursday night. Ryan O’Reilly scored the other Blues goal. Jordan Binnington made 38 saves in the game. The Blues and Bruins match up in Game 6 Sunday night in St. Louis starting at 6:30 on KSMO Radio as the Blues go for their first ever Stanley Cup Championship.

Paul DeJong’s two run homer in the 7th inning proved to be the difference Thursday as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-1. Dakota Hudson went 6 1/3rd innings and gave up one run on five hits. John Gant got the win with a scoreless 7th inning and is 5-0 on the year. The Cardinals begin a three game series against the Chicago Cubs this afternoon starting at 12:25 on KSMO Radio.

The Boston Red Sox used 7 pitchers and held off the Kansas City Royals Thursday, 7-5. Alex Gordon, Jorge Soler & Cheslor Cuthbert all hit solo homers for the Royals who banged out 14 hits in the game. Danny Duffy took the loss giving up four runs in 2 1/3rd innings. The Red Sox swept the series and the Royals will host the Chicago White Sox.
