Salem High School Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Jared Patterson will hold his boys’ basketball camp from Monday, June 13th through Thursday, June 16th. The camp will be held at the Salem Upper Elementary School Gym where children can learn the fundamentals of basketball. The fee for the camp is $20 which includes a camp T-Shirt. It is preferred that physicals are complete by the start of camp. The camp for 3rd through 5th graders will be held from 3:00 until 4:30; 6th through 8th graders from 5:00 to 6:30; and 9th through 12th graders from 7:00 until 8:45. Ji-Mon Choi’s two-run homer in the 4th inning off Miles Mikolas was enough for the Tampa Bay Rays to beat the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday, 2-1 as the Rays swept the series. St. Louis stranded 11 runners in the game even though they had only two hits. Mikolas took the loss and falls to 4-4 on the year. The Cardinals start a three-game series with Cincinnati tonight at 6:20 and play the Reds Saturday and Sunday at 12:20 each day with all games on KSMO Radio.

Carlos Santana’s two-run homer in the 5th inning broke open a 4-4 game and led the Kansas City Royals to a 7-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles Thursday night. It was the Royal’s second straight win. The Royals and Orioles play tonight as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon at Kaufmann Stadium.
