Dakota Hudson struggled through five innings Thursday giving up three runs and left the game trailing 3-2, but the St. Louis Cardinals rallied for five runs in the 6th inning highlighted by a grand slam by Tommy Edman to give Hudson the win improving his record to 9-4. Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer for the Red Birds and Andrew Miller got the save. The Cards will tangle with the Reds again tonight in Cincinnati starting at 5:15 on KSMO. They will also play Saturday at 5:15 and Sunday at 11:30 on KSMO

Cheslor Cuthbert hit a solo homer in the third inning followed by a two-run shot by Jorge Soler as the Royals scored five times in that inning that led them to a 6-5 win and four game series sweep over the Chicago White Sox. Kansas City banged out 13 hits Thursday as Brad Keller got the win to go to 6-9. They have now won six of the last seven games since the All-Star Break. The Royals start a three game series with the Cleveland Indians tonight in Cleveland.
