The 2026-27 Salem Tiger Sports season kicks off tonight as the Salem Football Tigers will face the Tigers of St. James to open their regular season starting at 7:00. If you can’t make it to the game, you can hear the audio broadcast on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM,) and stream on KSMO Media (KSMO Stream Facebook page, KSMO YouTube page, and ksmoradio.com.) The broadcasts are expected to begin around 6:30 starting with Tiger Talk and Coach Neal Myers. There is no charge to video stream the contests on KSMO Media.

The Bunker Lady Volleyball Eagles fell Thursday night in their 2026-27 sports opener to the Winona Lady Wildcats at the Bunker Gym in three straight sets: 13-25, 12-25 and 7-25. The Lady Eagles’ next varsity and JV match will be Tuesday in Summersville starting at 5:30.

Blaze Jordan provided some early run support in the 2nd inning, launching his first career Busch Stadium home run, a three-run shot, and Ramon Urias hit his first homer since returning from the injury list in the 4th inning to power the St. Louis Cardinals past Baltimore Thursday afternoon, 7-5. Alec Burleson had two hits and an RBI for St. Louis who salvaged the final game of the series. The Cardinals start a three-game series tonight with Pittsburgh. The game will be delayed on KSMO until 9:30 due to Salem Tiger Football.
