The Salem Tigers first football game at St. James tonight has been cancelled due to the team not having enough practices to play due to COVID.

The Salem High School Sports programs have another delay to the start of the season as the Salem Lady Tiger Volleyball game with Winona Monday night has been postponed as well as the game with St. James on Tuesday night due to the team being quarantined with COVID. At this time, it looks like the first volleyball game will be on Tuesday, September 7th at Eminence.

A quick reminder that the first three Salem Lady Tigers softball games have been postponed due to the team being quarantined from COVID. That includes the game this Saturday with East Carter, next Wednesday with St. James and next Thursday against Alton. As of today, the first game will be on Tuesday, September 7th at the Salem City Park against Van Buren at 4:30.

The Pittsburgh Pirates scored eight runs in the 7th inning and came back to beat the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday night, 11-7. Nolan Arenado had a two-run homer and Tommy Edman drove in two for St. Louis who will play the Pirates again tonight and Saturday starting with the pre-games at 5:10 on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals are in Seattle tonight as they continue their series against the Mariners.

The Kansas City Chiefs go for their third straight pre-season win tonight when they face the Minnesota Vikings.
