The Salem Lady Softball Tigers lost to the Willow Springs Lady Bears Thursday at the Salem City Park, 19-6. Kyleigh Wood had two hits and three RBI for Salem who falls to 2-7 on the year. The Lady Tigers play Licking Tuesday at 5:00 at the Salem City Park.

It took nine innings, but the Salem Tigers beat the Cabool Bulldogs, 9-7 in a game that saw each team commit 4 errors with the lead changing six times. Salem is now 6-1 on the year and 2-0 in the SCA Conference. The next Salem game will be Monday at Licking. That game will a radio only game on KSMO Radio.

The Salem Tennis Tigers’ Salem Invitational is this morning at 9:00 at the Salem City Park.

The St. Louis Cardinals got a two-run double from Nolan Gorman, an RBI triple from rookie Masyn Winn and run-scoring singles from Iván Herrera and Alec Burleson in a five-run seventh leading them to an 8-5 win over Miami. Herrera also homered in the game for St. Louis who will host Miami Saturday and Sunday at 12:20 each day on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals scored eight runs in the 7th inning and bomb the Chicago White Sox, 10-1. The Royals and White Sox continue their series this weekend at Kaufmann Stadium.

Filip Forsberg scored two goals and the Nashville Predators secured their playoff position with a 6-3 win over St. Louis. The Blues play San Jose Saturday at 5:00 and Anaheim Sunday at 6:30 on KSMO.
