Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Park and Recreation Department, the Al Brown Complex will be closed until further notice due to safety concerns. The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department recently hired an independent company to evaluate our light poles located at the Al Brown Complex and determined several poles did not pass inspection. Because of the hazard, all activities located on the Al Brown Complex will be canceled until further notice. The Salem Park and Recreation Department will work hard to resolve this issue and open the park as soon as possible.

Senior Baylor Petty threw a four hit complete game shutout over the Ava Bears as the Salem Baseball Tigers kept their SCA Conference title hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Ava. Petty also drove in both runs with a single with two outs in the 7th inning to provide the winning margin. Salem improves to 6-10 on the year and 4-1 in the SCA. The Salem Baseball Tigers will host Houston Monday at the SHS Baseball Field Complex. That game can be heard on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com.

The Colorado Avalanche beat the St. Louis Blues Thursday night at Enterprise Center by the score of 4-2. Jaden Schwartz scored both Blues’ goals in the game. The Blues are still one point out of a playoff spot behind Arizona. The Blues will play Colorado Saturday afternoon. KSMO will delay the broadcast of the game until 4:30 after the Cardinals baseball game.

The St. Louis Cardinals will host the Cincinnati Reds this weekend in a three-game series starting tonight at 6:20. The games on Saturday and Sunday will each start at 12:20. All the games can be heard on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals will be in Detroit to start a four-game series tonight.
