The Salem Baseball Tigers will host Thayer today in an SCA Conference matchup at 5:00 at the Salem High School Baseball Field Complex. Salem enters the game with a 1-2 SCA Conference record and 4-6 overall, while the Bobcats are 2-1 and 10-6 on the season. The game will be broadcast on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM) and video streamed on KSMO Media (ksmoradio.com, KSMO Stream Facebook and KSMO YouTube) starting at 4:45 with Tiger Talk and Coach Tony Edwards.
The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Mountain View to face the Liberty Lady Eagles in a key SCA Conference matchup this afternoon starting at 4:30. Salem is 9-4 on the year and 2-2 in the SCA Conference, while Liberty is 1-3 in the SCA Conference and 3-11 overall.
The Salem Tennis Tigers will play two matches today at the Salem City Park today starting at 1:00 against the Potosi Trojans in a makeup match that was postponed on April 1st. Then the Tigers will host Mountain View-Liberty beginning at 4:00. Salem enters the matches with a 9-3 record.
The Salem Varsity Track Teams will participate today in a meet at Poplar Bluff while the middle school track teams will be taking part in the Osage Junior High Warpath Meet.
The St. Louis Cardinals swept the Houston Astros over the weekend scoring 23 runs over the course of the three game series. During Friday’s game the Cardinals never trailed on their way to a 9-4 win. Saturday, the Astros put on some late game heroics trying to rally in the bottom of the ninth with a trio of runs but the Cards held on for the 7-5 victory. Yesterday afternoon it took extra innings but in the top of the tenth Masyn Winn hit a ground ball out to left field that allowed Iván Herrera, Jordan Walker, and Ramón Urías to score for a similar 7-5 outcome. The Cardinals are on their way from Houston to Miami to face the Marlins tonight at 5:40. KSMO Radio will broadcast this game on a delay and following Salem Tiger Baseball.
