Josh Arzt 3rd inning double drove in two runs and started a seven-run explosion that included five Mountain View-Liberty errors as the Salem Tigers beat the Eagles, 9-5. Kody Crocker and Collin Heavin each had two hits for the Tigers who improve to 5-6 overall and 3-0 in the SCA Conference. Salem has won four straight games as they will play in the Marshall Tournament this weekend against Chillicothe, Marshall and Clinton. The tournament will NOT be carried on KSMO.

The Salem Varsity Track team did NOT participate in the West Plains invitational Thursday. Instead, they will be at Owensville today at 4:00.

The St. Louis Cardinals will be in Philadelphia to face the Phillies in a three-game set this weekend starting tonight at 5:10. Saturday, the Cards play at 2:10 and again at 11:20 Sunday morning. All the games can be heard on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals jumped out to a 7-0 lead, then held on after a Blue Jays comeback to beat Toronto last night, 7-5. The Royals and Blue Jays continue their four-game series tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

The St. Louis Blues will play Arizona Saturday afternoon at 4:00. The game will be delayed until 6:30 due to Cards’ baseball and can be heard on KSMO Radio.
