The Salem Tiger Tennis Team shut-out Mountain View Wednesday afternoon at the Salem City Park Tennis Courts, 9-0. Willow Springs, six matches to 3 on Tuesday at the Salem City Park Tennis Court. The Tigers will play in the West Plains Invitational Wednesday starting at 9:00 in the morning.

The Ava Bears scored six runs in the top of the 8th inning to break open a see-saw 7-7 game and defeat Salem by the score of 13-7. Nate Bray had two hits and three RBI in the game. Salem is now 2-4 on the year and 1-2 in the SCA Conference. The Tigers will host their tournament this afternoon and lasting through Saturday. The teams in the tournament include Licking, St. James and Dixon.

The Salem Track Teams will be at the Cuba Invitational this afternoon starting at 3:30.

Jose Martinez drove in six runs Thursday night and Yadier Molina homered in his return from a one-game suspension, powering the St. Louis Cardinals to a 13-4 victory that left the Cincinnati Reds mired in their worst start since 1955. The Cards will be in Cincinnati again today starting at 4:45 on KSMO, and again at 11:15 Saturday and Sunday mornings on KSMO.

Shohei Ohtani hit a bases-loaded triple in a five-run seventh inning to help the streaking Los Angeles Angels beat the Kansas City Royals 7-1 on Thursday night for their fifth straight victory. The Royals and Angels continue their series this weekend at Kaufmann Stadium.
