Maddie Mercer went 4-4 with a homer, two doubles and a single, driving in five runs to lead the Salem Lady Softball Tigers past the Cabool Lady Bulldogs Thursday, 18-4. Josie Bowers also had a four hits driving in two runs while Shaylee Thomas smacked two doubles and drove in four runs as the Lady Tigers finished the game with 16 hits. Salem is 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the SCA Conference. The Lady Tigers will be at East Carter today starting at 4:30.

Aaden Scantlin struck out 14 Salem Tigers giving up just five hits in going the distance Thursday, beating Salem, 7-1. Jasper McCloy had a hit and drove in three runs while Blake Sanders had a hit and two RBI. Dannon Berry went six innings giving up seven hits, but he did walk five and hit a man in taking the loss. Sylis Dubois had two of the Tiger hits as Salem drops to 3-6 on the year and 0-2 in the SCA Conference. The Tigers will be at Cabool Monday for another SCA Conference game at 4:30. The game will NOT be carried on KSMO Media as they will be covering the Lady Tiger Softball game. 

In the Salem JV Baseball game Thursday, Houston scored three runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to come back and beat Salem, 6-5. The Salem JV Tigers fall to 2-3 on the year and they will play at Cabool Monday after the varsity game.

The Salem Tiger Baseball game scheduled with Waynesville for April 17th at 4:30 has been rescheduled and will now be played on Friday, April 24th at 4:30.

The Salem Tennis Tigers took 1st Place in the Salem Invitational held Wednesday at the Salem City Park. Houston took 2nd Place with Mountain Grove getting 3rd Place, Marshfield got 4th Place and Licking came in 5th Place. Braiden Gapsch took 1st in singles with Oscar Ramirez capturing 4th in singles. The team of Blayne Canaday and Linkyn Atkinson took 3rd in doubles. Then Thursday in the match with Mountain Grove, Salem beat the Panthers, 8-1. In some schedule changes, the Salem Tiger Tennis team match scheduled for Monday at 4:00 at Rolla will now be played at 2:30 to allow Rolla to make up a match later in the day. Also, the Potosi match that was rained out earlier in the year will be made up on Monday, April 20th at 1:00. Salem will then play Mountain View-Liberty that same afternoon at 4:00. Both of those matches will be at the Salem City Park.

The Salem Tiger High School Track Teams will host a Salem Field Events meet Saturday morning starting at 9:00.

The St. Louis Blues hosted the Winnipeg Jets last night in the Enterprise Center. Colton Parayko and Dylan Holloway were each able to net a goal on the night but a trio of Jets put the game out of reach, defeating the Blues 3-2. With their playoff hopes on life support, the Blues are traveling to Chicago to face the Blackhawks tomorrow afternoon. KSMO Radio will broadcast this game live with pre-skate coverage beginning at 3:30 and puck drop to follow at 4:00.

The St. Louis Cardinals will begin a new three game series against the Boston Red Sox tonight live on KSMO Radio with coverage starting at 6:20. On Saturday, first pitch is scheduled for 6:15 and KSMO Radio will join this game live following the St. Louis Blues game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Sunday’s game will wrap up the series and KSMO Radio will have live coverage beginning with the pregame show at 12:20 in the afternoon.
