During the shutdown of the federal government due to the lapse of appropriations, national parks will remain as accessible as possible while still following all applicable laws and procedures. Park roads, lookouts, trails, campgrounds and day use areas at Ozark National Scenic Riverways, will remain accessible to visitors. Emergency and rescue services may be limited, however Law Enforcement rangers will remain on duty to provide essential visitor and resource protection. There will be no National Park Service provided visitor services at Ozark National Scenic Riverways, including public information, restrooms, trash collection, and facilities or roads maintenance. The NPS will not be providing services for NPS-operated campgrounds, including maintenance, janitorial, bathrooms, or showers. However, visitors in NPS-operated campgrounds will not be asked to leave unless safety concerns require such action. Because of the federal government shutdown, NPS social media and websites are not being monitored or updated and may not reflect current conditions. Park concession operations will remain closed as they usually are at this time of year, with the exception of Akers Ferry Canoe Rental, which will remain in operation so that the vehicle ferry can continue to provide service to vehicles wishing to cross the Current River at State Highway K.
