Mike Yastrzemski’s two-out, two-strike two-run homer in the top of the 9th inning tied the game at 5-5 and the San Francisco Giants scored three more runs in the top of the 10th inning as they beat the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday, 8-5. St. Louis went 1-5 on the six-game home stand and are 2-10 in their last 12 games. Tommy Edman hit a grand slam for St. Louis who will be in New York Friday to face the Mets.

Bobby Witt, Jr. had three of the 15 Kansas City hits, but the Cincinnati Reds hit four home runs in the game and beat the Royals Wednesday, 7-4. Kansas City will have today off before they host the LA Angels of Anaheim Friday night.

Michael Conforto had four hits and drove in three runs while Mike Yastrzemski and Patrick each had a homer and two RBI as the San Francisco Giants pummeled St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday night, 11-3. The Giants had 17 hits in the game and they go for the sweep today as the Cards and Giants play at 12:15 on KSMO with the pre-game show at 11:20.

New Salem High School Lady Softball Coach Bekah (Kirker) Hayes will be holding a softball camp on Monday, June 26th through Friday, June 30th for young ladies in grades 9-12 at the City Park Blue Field from 8:00 until 10:00 in the morning. There will also be a camp for girls in the 4th through 8th grades the same week from 10:00 until 11:00 in the morning also at the City Park Blue Field.

The San Francisco Giants scored the tying run in the 7th inning with a two-out rally and then took the lead in the 8th inning as they came back to beat the St. Louis Cardinals Monday, 4-3 at Busch Stadium. Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer and Paul DeJong had solo shot but it was not enough as the Cards drop their third straight game and 8th in their last ten games. The Red Birds will face the Giants again tonight on KSMO at 5:50.

The Cincinnati Reds tied the game in the 6th inning against Kansas City, then took the lead into the bottom of 9th inning when Salvador Perez homered with two out in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game, but the Reds pushed a run across in the 10th inning to beat Kansas City Monday, 5-4. The Royals and Red play again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

The St. Louis Cardinals dropped a 4-3 decision to the Cincinnati Reds Sunday at Busch Stadium as they lost two of the three games in the series. The Cards play the San Francisco Giants tonight at 5:50 on KSMO.

Salvador Perez homered for Kansas City, but the Royals were swept for the second series in a row, losing Sunday to Baltimore, 11-3. The Kansas City Royals have lost six straight games and they will host Cincinnati tonight.

The St. Louis Cardinals had Thursday off and will begin a three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds tonight at 6:20. The Cards and Reds play Saturday and Sunday at 12:20 both days. You can hear those games on KSMO Radio. St. Louis is last in the National League Central Division.

The Kansas City Royals also had Thursday off. They will be in Baltimore to face the Orioles starting a three game series. The Royals have lost six of the last seven games and are in last place in the American League Central Division with the second worst record in baseball.

Salem Lady Tigers Basketball Coach Cody Woody will be holding a Youth Lady Tiger Basketball Camp June 19th through the 23rd at the Salem High School Gym. Two camps will be held: one for girls in kidergarten through the 2nd grade, and the other camp is for girls from the 3rd through the 5th grade. The camp for the youngest girls will be held from 8:30 until 9:30 in the morning while the camp for the girls in the 3rd through 5th grade will follow from 10:00 until 11:00 in the morning. Alec Burleson’s 8th inning homer was the only St. Louis run and Jack Flaherty went six shutout innings followed by three relievers who blanked Texas Wednesday, 1-0. The Cards are off today.

The Miami Marlins swept Kansas City Wednesday as they beat the Royals, 6-1. Jesus Sanchez hit a three-run homer for Miami and the Royals were held to just three hits. The Royals have the day off today.

Nolan Arenado, Willson Contreras and Jordan Walker all hit home runs, but St. Louis fell to the Texas Rangers Tuesday night by the score of 6-4. The Cardinals are 0-5 on the road trip and will play Texas tonight at 6:10 on KSMO.

The Miami Marlins scored five runs in the 5th inning to against Zack Grienke and went on to beat the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, 6-1. Grienke falls to 1-6 on the year. The Royals have lost five of the last six games. The Royals play Miami again this afternoon.

The St. Louis Cardinals were swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates this past weekend, losing Sunday afternoon by a score of 2-1. Andrew Knizner’s solo homer run was the only Red Bird tally. Luken Baker and Tommy Edman each had two hits for St. Louis who had only five hits on the day. The Cardinals travel to Arlington to face Texas starting tonight at 6:10 on KSMO.

Brady Singer pitched a solid 5 2/3rds innings and combined with three other pitchers to shutout the Colorado Rockies, 2-0 Sunday to avoid the sweep. Maikel Garcia hit his first homer of the year for the Royals needed Sunday. The Royals will be in Seattle to face the Marlins to start a three game series tonight.

The St. Louis Cardinals begin a three-game series in Pittsburgh tonight. The pre-game show will begin at 5:10 tonight, 2:10 Saturday and Sunday’s game will have a delayed start time of 11:40. All the games can be head on KSMO. The Cardinals are currently in 4th place in the Central Division, five games behind Milwaukee.

The Kansas City Royals will host the Colorado Rockies for a three-game series at Kaufmann Stadium. The Royals are in 5th place in Central Division and are 12 games behind Minnesota who is in 1st place.
