The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers face the Cuba Wildcats in the Class 4, District 3 semi-final in Owensville starting at 5:30 tonight. Salem is 13-14 on the year while Cuba goes into the contest with a 13-11 record. Admission to the game is $6.00 per person for those six years of age and above. If you can’t make it to the game, you can listen to the contest on KSMO Radio and by audio stream on KSMO Media starting at 5:15. You can also video stream the game on MSHSAA.TV for $10.00 per device plus fees.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers, coming off the 97-93 overtime loss to Vanderbilt Saturday, will be at Oklahoma tonight starting at 7:00 on KSMO. Missouri is 21-8 overall and 10-6 in the SEC Conference going into the game while Oklahoma is 17-12 overall and 4-12 in the conference. The game can be heard on KSMO Radio immediately after Salem Tiger District Basketball.

The St. Louis Blues continue their six-game road trip as they will be in Los Angeles to face the Kings in a rematch of the game from Saturday night that the Blues won, 4-1. The Blues are currently two points out of the 2nd wild card slot behind Calgary, but the Flames have played two less games than the Blues. The Cuba Lady Wildcats held off a feisty Salem Lady Tigers squad in the first round of District play Tuesday night in Cuba, winning by a final score of 55-41. Salem led after the 1st quarter, 14-11 but could only get four points in the 2nd quarter and trailed 24-18 at half and could never get closer than the six point deficit. Salem was led by Addison Fulton who had 17 points and 11 rebounds followed by Raven Gillam with 13 points. Courtney Caron paced Cuba with 19 points followed by Leah Schmidt with 14 points and Mya Garbo with 11 more. Salem finished the year with a 4-22 record while Cuba improves to 15-11 and will play the St. Francis Borgia Lady Knights Thursday night at 7:00 in the semi-final.

Sports – Tuesday, March 4th 2025

The Salem Basketball Tigers hit five first half three-pointers, including three from Cayden Moody, as they built a 15-point halftime lead and cruised to a 62-41 win over St. Clair Monday night at Owensville. Salem was led by Gavin Sapaugh and Braiden Gapsch who each netted 16 points. Moody finished with 13 points as Salem outrebounded St. Clair, 26-11 in the game, but Salem struggled from the free throw line in the 4th quarter only hitting 6 of 16 shots, finishing 12-24 on the night. The Tigers advance to the district semi-final Wednesday night at 5:30 against Cuba at Owensville. Salem goes into the game Wednesday with a 13-14 record but have won three of their last four and six of their last nine. Cuba enters the game with a 13-11 record, but they have lost five of their last six games. Admission Wednesday at Owensville is $6.00 per person for anyone 6 years of age and up.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will face the Cuba Lady Wildcats/Viburnum Lady Jays combo in the first round of District play tonight at Cuba at 7:00. Salem enters the game with a 4-21 record and have lost their last 14 games. Cuba/Viburnum comes into the game with a 14-11 overall record, but they are 2-5 in their seven games. The Wildcats/Jays beat Salem back on February 10th, 70-27. Admission to the game is $6.00 per person for anyone six years of age and older. The game will be broadcast on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM) and audio streamed on ksmoradio.com.

The Salem Basketball Tigers will be in postseason play tonight as they will take on the St. Clair Bulldogs in Owensville. The Tigers and Bulldogs recently played last week and it was the Tigers taking the “W” by a score of 59-52. The Tigers finished the regular season 12-14, while the Bulldogs finished with a 14-12 record.  You can listen to this game on KSMO Radio 1340 AM & 95.7 FM with Tiger Talk starting at approximately 5:15. There will be a live audio stream on KSMO Media’s Facebook and YouTube page but due to MSHSAA regulations KSMO Media is required to only stream the video on MSHSAA.tv. The Mizzou Basketball Tigers took on the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday. The Tigers would go up quick finishing the first half with a 9 point advantage, however the Commodores would rally and battle back late to force overtime with a three point shot in the final few seconds. Once overtime was underway Vanderbilt played with the momentum and defeated the Tigers 97-93. Mizzou’s next game will be Wednesday evening at 7:00. The St. Louis Blues defeated the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday by a score of 4-1. Riding a 4 game win streak they headed down to Texas and traded goals early with the Dallas Stars but fell, 6-3. The next Blues game will be Wednesday evening at 9:30. Listen to this game live on KSMO Radio following the Mizzou Basketball game. If the Tigers game runs into overtime, the Blues game will be joined in progress.

In Brayden Schenn’s 1,000th game, the Blues played the Washington Capitals last night and upset them 5-2. Philip Broberg scored a pair of goals in the first, giving St. Louis the early advantage. The Blues, now on a three game win streak, have a pair of games over the weekend. Saturday night they’ll be at home to take on the Los Angeles Kings at 7:00. You can listen to this game live on KSMO radio, 1340 AM & 95.7 FM following the Mizzou Tiger Basketball game. Then Sunday afternoon the Blues will be in Dallas to finish their season series against the Stars. This game can also be heard live on KSMO Radio with the pregame starting at 4:30.

The Mizzou Tigers are currently 10-5 in the SEC Conference, 21-7 overall, and ranked 14th nationally. They’ll be back on the court tomorrow afternoon to play the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville. This game will be aired on KSMO Radio with coverage beginning at 4:30.

The St. Louis Cardinals have a couple of spring training games that can be heard on KSMO Radio this weekend. Tomorrow morning at 11:55 you can tune in to hear their game against the Washington Nationals. On Sunday at noon you can listen to their game versus the Miami Marlins.

The Kansas City Royals will be at home tomorrow versus the Cubs for an evening game at 7:05. Sunday afternoon they be in San Diego to face the Padres at 2:10. You can watch both of these games on Fubo with a subscription.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will face St. Clair Monday night at the Owensville gym in the first round of district play. Salem is seeded 4th in the tournament and St. Clair is seeded 5th. The winner of the game will play the #1 seeded Cuba Wildcats on Wednesday night at 5:30 at Owensville. 

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will take on the Cuba Lady Wildcats/Viburnum Lady Blue Jays Tuesday night at 7:00 at the Cuba High School Gym. The winner of the game will play Thursday night at 7:00 at the Cuba High School against St. Francis Borgia Lady Knights. The cost to enter each district game is $6.00 per person for those six years of age and older.

The Blues are heading out east to take on the Washington Capitals tonight at 6:00. The Blues are coming off a dominant win over the Seattle Kraken and are looking to tie the season series with Washington. Luke Pryor scored 17 points and captured eight rebounds to help lead the Salem Boys Basketball Tigers to a 59-52 win over St. Clair Tuesday night. Braiden Gapsch and Gavin Sapaugh each added 15 points for Salem who finish the regular season with a 12-14 record. Salem will face this same St. Clair team in District play Monday night at 5:30 at Owensville.

The Salem JV Basketball Tigers lost to St. Clair Tuesday night, 52-46 in their season finale. Coach Wes Hampton’s team finished with a 12-9 record overall.

The St. Louis Blues jumped out to a 7-0 lead and dominated the Seattle Kraken en route to a 7-2 win Tuesday night. Zack Bolduc scored two goals for the Blues while Jordan Kyrou, Oskar Sundqvist, Robert Thomas, Cam Fowler and Jake Neighbours added goals for the Blues who will be in Washington Thursday night. The Missouri Tigers hosted the South Carolina Gamecocks last night and soundly defeated them by a score of 101-71. Caleb Grill scored 22 points on the night and five other Tigers got into double digit points. The Tigers will be visiting the Vanderbilt Commodores this Saturday afternoon and you can listen to this game live on KSMO Radio with the pregame at 4:30, tipoff at 5:00.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers fell to the St. Clair Lady Bulldogs in their final regular season game Monday night, 62-43 as they had four girls score in double figures. Salem was led by Addison Fulton with 11 points and 14 rebounds. The Lady Tigers ended the regular season with a 4-21 record. They will play in the Class 4, District playoffs starting Tuesday night, March 4th at 7:00 in Cuba against the Cuba Lady Wildcats/Viburnum Lady Jays.

The Salem Lady JV Basketball Tigers lost to St. Clair Monday night, 28-22.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will be at St. Clair to wrap up their regular season against the Bulldogs. The 12-8 JV will play at 5:30 and the 11-14 varsity boys game will follow the Senior Night Ceremony at about 7:10. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio and audio stream the game on KSMO Media.

The fourteenth ranked Missouri Tigers will be hosting the South Carolina Gamecocks tonight at 8:00. ESPN will be covering the broadcast.

The Mountain Grove Panthers clinched a share of the SCA Conference Championship Saturday with Thayer as they beat the Salem Tigers, 63-49. Cale Gardner led Mountain Grove with 18 points as they had four players with double figures. Salem was led by Braiden Gapsch and Gavin Sapaugh with 14 points each followed by Lincoln Thomas with ten more. Salem falls to 11-14 and will be at St. Clair Tuesday night with the varsity game starting around 7:00.

The Mountain Grove Lady Panthers ended their regular season with a convincing 71-24 win over the Salem Tigers Saturday at the SHS Gym. Raylee Stenzel led Mountain Grove with 32 points as the Lady Panthers ended their season with a 21-4 record, but did not share the SCA Conference title as they had two SCA Conference losses. Salem lost for the 13th straight time and will host St. Clair tonight. The varsity game will begin around 7:00, following the JV game beginning at 5:30, and can be heard on KSMO Radio and video streamed on KSMO Media.

The Salem Boys JV Basketball Tigers fell to Mountain Grove Saturday, 50-37, and they finish their regular season at 5:30 Tuesday night at St. Clair. The Salem JV are 12-8 on the year.

The Salem Lady JV Basketball Tigers fell to Mountain Grove Saturday in a two-quarter contest, 22-8.

Robert Thomas scored two goals (his 100th and 101st in the NHL) and had an assist, but Winnipeg tied the game with :28 seconds left before winning the game in the shoot-out on a goal by Kyle Conner, 4-3. Last night, the Blues faced the Colorado Avalanche and after trailing early came back for a 3-1 win. The Blues will host the Seattle Kraken tomorrow night and you can listen to this game on delay following the Salem Tiger basketball game on KSMO Radio.

The Arkansas Razorbacks beat the 15th ranked Missouri Tigers Saturday in Fayetteville, 92-85 to keep their NCAA hopes alive. Missouri had five players with double figures led by Mark Mitchell with 17 points followed by Marquis Warrick with 16. The Tigers fall to 20-7 and 9-5 in the SEC Conference. They will play Tuesday night at 8:00 against South Carolina.

The Miami Marlins scored five runs in the 7th inning and two more in the 8th inning to beat the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday, 7-6. Then on Sunday, it was the Houston Astros with a breakout inning scoring seven runs in the top of the 6th, going on to defeat the Cardinals 11-6. The Cardinals play the New York Mets today.

The Kansas City Royals on Friday beat Texas, 5-2; then defeated the LA Dodgers Saturday, 11-10 on John Rave’s two-run triple in the top of the 9th inning. Yesterday, the Royals scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat the White Sox, 4-3. The Royals will face the Sacramento Athletics today.

The Salem Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball games against Mountain Grove that were originally scheduled during the school week have been rescheduled for tomorrow. The JV Lady Tigers will get the afternoon games started at 1:00. This game will be two quarters of play, then the JV boys will play a full game with the varsity girls and boys games will follow. The Blues are back and taking on the Winnipeg Jets in St. Louis tomorrow evening. This game will air on KSMO Radio, on a slight delay, following the Salem Tiger basketball games.

The Missouri Tigers will play the Arkansas Razorbacks at 7:00. This game will not be on KSMO radio due to the Blues Hockey game.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers are scheduled to host the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers tonight at the SHS Gym starting with the JV game at 6:00 with the varsity game to follow. If played, the varsity game can be heard on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM) and video streamed on KSMO Media (ksmoradio.com, KSMO Stream Facebook and KSMO Twitch Page). The Salem varsity team enters the game with a 4-19 record.

The Salem Lady Tigers game with Couch Tuesday was postponed due to the weather and no makeup date has been announced.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers played the Alabama Crimson Tide last night and came out of the gate shooting. The Tigers racked up 12 points before the Crimson Tide could score their first basket. This set the tone for the night as Missouri, who never trailed, defeated fourth ranked Alabama, 110-98. Mark Mitchell was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 31 points. The St. Louis Blues announced the team has acquired forward Corey Andonovski from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Mathias Laferriere. Andonovski will report to the Blues’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The St. Louis Cardinals begin spring training play against the Miami Marlins starting 12:00 Saturday, then take on the Houston Astros Sunday at 11:55. Both games can be heard on KSMO Radio.
