The Salem Baseball Tigers will open their SCA Conference schedule today at Houston starting at 4:30. Salem enters the game with a 4-1 record and Houston is 4-3. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio and streaming audio on KSMO Media.

The Salem Lady Tigers will be at Cabool for an SCA Conference game today, orginall set to start at 4:30, will now begin at 3:30. Salem enters the game with a 2-5 record. Cabool is 0-6 on the year. The Lady Tigers are also 0-1 in the SCA Conference after losing to Houston last Thursday.

The Salem Tennis team was scheduled to be at Waynesville today at 4:00 to face the Tigers, but that match has been calncelled and will be rescheduled to April 23rd at 4:00.

This past season, Dent-Phelps R-3 Lady Bobcats volleyball team went 10-0 for the regular season and overall, including tournaments, they finuished with a 23-1 record. Congratulations Lady Bobcats on this outstanding achievement!!

Max Muncy drilled a two-run homer in the bottom of the 8th inning that capped a LA Dodger five-run rally as they came back from a 4-0 defict to beat St. Louis, 5-4. The Dodgers took three of the four games from the Red Birds who will be in San Diego to face the Padres tonight at 7:45 on KSMO.

Bobby Witt, Jr. had three hits including a homer as Kansas City pounded out five homers in getting their first win of the year over Minnesota Sunday, 11-0. Brady Singer threw seven innings of three hit ball to get the win. Salvadore Perez, Kyle Isbel, Mikel Garcia and Nelson Velazquez all homered for the Royals who will be at Baltimore tonight.

The St. Louis Blues dropped a 4-0 decision to the San Jose Sharks Saturday night, and they will host the Las Vegas Golden Knights tonight at the Enterprise Center. The game will NOT be heard on KSMO due to Cardinal Baseball.

Haiden Sanders hit a 1st inning three-run homer and added another RBI in the 6th inning as Salem beat Potosi Thursday, 8-2. Owen Hamilton added three hits and three RBI for the Tigers who improve to 4-1 on the year. The Tigers will be at Houston Monday for their first SCA Conference game.

Former Salem Tiger athlete Savannah Manthey broke an SBU school record in the javelin throw with a mark of 43.50-meters at the S&T Invite last Saturday taking first place. That was good enough for a National provisional mark and it is currently ranked 8th in the Nation. Congratulations Savannah!

The Salem Tennis team lost to Willow Springs Thursday, 6 to 3. They are 2-3 on the year. The Tennis Tigers will be at Waynesville on Monday.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers were dominated by Houston Thursday, 20-1 to fall to 2-5 on the season and 0-1 in SCA Conference play. Salem will Cabool on Monday at 4:30.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost to the LA Dodgers Thursday, 7-1. Paul Goldschmidt had three hits including a home run for the Red Birds who will play the Dodgers tonight at 8:15 on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals lost to the Minnesota Twins Thursday in their opening day, 4-1. The Royals will be off until Saturday when they continue their series with Minnesota.

Pavel Buchnevich scored two goals and Brandon Saad scored in his fourth straight game as St. Louis beat Calgary Thursday, 5-3. They will play the San Jose Sharks Saturday night.

Steelville’s Marli Perkins pitched five innings of one-run ball striking out 11, plus had three hits of her own as the Lady Cardinals beat Salem, 13-1 Wednesday. Graciemae Boone and Emeri Perkins each had two hits and two RBI. The Lady Softball Tigers will be at Houston today for an SCA Conference game starting at 4:30.

The Salem Tennis Tigers beat Houston Tuesday, 5 matches to four, but lost to Potosi Wednesday night at the Salem City Park, 3-6 to fall to 2-2 on the year. The Tennis Tigers will host Willow Springs today at 4:00 at the Salem City Park.

The Salem Golf Team will be at at Mountain Grove today for the Mountain Grove Open

The St. Louis Cardinals open their 2024 season against the LA Dodgers today starting at 2:15 on KSMO. Miles Micholas will start for St. Louis against Tyler Glasnow for the Dodgers.

The Kansas City Royals start their 2024 season against Minnesota today. Cole Ragans will pitch for KC while Pablo Lopez goes for the Twins.

The Salem Golf Team’s Salem Open was postponed due to wet grounds Tuesday. They will be at Mountain Grove this Thursday.

The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs in Mesa, Arizona Tuesday, 7-2 to finish spring training with a 13-12-5 record. They open the season Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson injured his left shoulder Monday in a collision with Jordan Walker and will miss several weeks. The Cardinals called up Victor Scott II to play center field.

The Salem Baseball Tigers game with Owensville Monday afternoon was postponed due to rain and will be made up at a later date. The Tigers game at Licking today has also been postponed. No make up date has yet been set. Salem’s next scheduled game will be Thursday at 4:30 at home against Potosi. Salem will enter that game with a 3-1 record.

The Salem Tennis team will be at Houston today at 4:00, and the Salem Track teams will be at the Cuba Relays today starting at 3:30.

Jonathan Marchessault scored in overtime after Pavel Buchnevich was stopped on a penalty shot to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 2-1 win over St. Louis Monday night. The Blues will play the Calgary Flames Thursday at 6:30 or right after Cardinal Baseball on KSMO Radio.

Willson Contreras hit a two run homer and St. Louis scored three runs in the 7th inning to beat the Chicago Cubs Monday, 6-3. The two teams play again today in their final spring training warm-up.

Kansas City beat the Northwest Arkansas Nationals, 7-1 in their final spring training game. They will open the season against the Minnesota Twins Thursday.

Ellington scored six runs in the 6th inning to tie the game, then won the game in the bottom of the 7th with two more runs to come back and beat Salem, 10-9. Tre Richter had a two-run homer for Salem and Kaiden Dubois had two RBI. The Tigers will be host Owensville Monday at 4:30 at the SHS Baseball Field Complex.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Bourbon this afternoon at 4:00. Salem is 1-0 going into the contest. On Saturday, the Lady Tigers will play Ava in the Mountain Grove SCA Tournament at 10:30 Saturday.

The Salem Tiger Track Team will be at the Osage Varsity Open Meet today.

Jake Neighbours had two goals as the St. Louis Blues beat Ottawa Thursday, 5-2. The Blues will play Minnesota Saturday afternoon on a delayed basis with the game starting at 3:30 on KSMO.

St. Louis lost to the Houston Astros Thursday, 9-1. The Cardinals face the Miami Marlins today at 4:55, the Washington Nationals Saturday at 11:55 and the Houston Astros Sunday at 11:55. They all can heard on KSMO Radio.

Cleveland beat Kansas City Thursday, 8-5 in the first split squad game, and the Chicago White Sox and Royals tied 3-3 in the other game. The Royals will face Milwaukee today.

The Class 4, District 3 All-District teams have been named. On the boys side, Salem Tigers guard Landon Richter was named to the team. Also named to the boys team from the district were Tate Gruver from St. James, Jesse Elrod from Cuba and Preston Heads from Cuba who was also named the District Player of the Year. For the ladies, Salem Lady Tiger forward Fayth Kaminski was named to the All-District team. Also named were Tyra Haffer and Courtney Caron from Cuba, and Lydia Kemnitzer, Kendall Costoplus and Emily Recker from St. James. Recker was also named the District Player of the Year. Congratulations to all these athletes!

The Tigers will be at Ellington to face the Whippets today at 4:30. The St Louis Cardinals blasted the Washington Nationals Wednesday, 13-4 as Jose Fermin and Dylan Carlson homered. They will play Houston this afternoon.

The Kansas City Royals Wednesday night tied with the LA Angels of Anaheim, 8-8. Today they will play split squad games today against the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Guardians.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers won their first game of the year and it was the first win for head coach Rebekah Hayes as Salem beat Ellington, 17-13. The JV also won, 9-6. The Lady Tigers will be at Bourbon Friday at 4:30.

Mikko Rantanen scored his seventh NHL hat trick for the Colorado Avalanche in their seventh straight win, 4-3 against the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Tuesday. The Blues play Ottawa Thursday after Salem Tiger Baseball.

The Cardinals beat Miami Tuesday, 11-10, but lost to the New York Mets, 3-1 in split squad action. They will play Washington today.

The San Francisco Giants pushed a run across in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat Kansas City Tuesday, 9-8. The Kansas City Royals will play the LA Angels of Anaheim tonight.

Numerous Salem Tigers Spring Sports seasons begin today. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will open their regular season at Ellington against the Lady Whippets at 4:30; the Salem Tigers Tennis Team will be in Licking to face the Wildcats at 4:00; and the Salem Tigers Track Team will be at St. James for their open.

The St. Louis Blues will host the Colorado Avalanche tonight at 6:30 and you can hear the game on KSMO Radio. The Blues have won their last five home games and four games in a row.

The St. Louis Cardinals had Monday off and will have split-squad action today against the Miami Marlins and New York Mets.
