The Salem Lady Tigers are scheduled to play Ava this afternoon in a make-up game at 4:30 at the Salem City Park. Salem enters the game with a 4-14 record and they are 0-5 in SCA Conference play.

The Salem Track teams will be at the Rolla Invitational today, weather permitting, starting at 2:00 this afternoon.

The Salem Varsity Tennis team will be at Houston today starting at 4:00, weather permitting. Salem is 5-7 on the year.

The Salem Tigers Baseball game vs Dora was cancelled yesterday, due to the weather.

The St. Louis Cardinals will be at New York to face the Mets starting at 5:15 tonight, 2:10 Saturday afternoon and 11:45 All three games can be heard on KSMO Radio.

The Royals faced the Toronto Blue Jays yesterday and played five innings to secure a
2-1 victory before the weather ended the game. At 16-10, they start a three game series at Detroit against the Tigers starting tonight.

The Salem Lady Tigers committed nine errors and the Thayer Bobcats scored eight unearned runs en route to a 16-6 win over Salem. Salem is 4-14 and they will play Ava in a makeup game Friday at 4:30 at the Salem City P ark.

The Salem Baseball Tigers will be at Dora today starting at 4:30. Salem is 13-2 on the year.

The Salem Varsity Tennis team finished 4th in the SCA Conference Meet. Congratulations goes to to JJ Smith and Blayne Canaday for being 2nd Team All-Conference in doubles!

Lars Nootbaaar had a two-run double and Kyle Gibson threw six innings of one-run ball as the St. Louis Cardinals beat Arizona Wednesday, 5-1 to win their first series at home. Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan each had two hits for St. Louis who will have the day off today before beginning a three game series in New York Friday night at 5:15.

Bobby Wiit Jr.’s 5th inning single drove in the eventual game winning run as KC beat Toronto, 3-2. The Blue Jays and Royals play this afternoon at Kaufmann Stadium.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers beat Stoutland Tuesday, 9-5 in a five inning official game shortened by rain. Salem is 4-13 on the year and they will play Thayer in a makeup game today at 4:30 at the Salem city park. The Salem Baseball Tigers game with Sullivan was postponed due to rain after two innings and will not be made up. Salem will be at Dora on Thursday at 4:30.

The Salem Tennis Team lost to Waynesville Tuesday, 5-0 and will participate in the SCA Tournament today at the Salem City Park.

After Willson Contreras homered in the 1st inning, Arizona scored four runs in the 4th inning, six in the 5th inning and four more in the 6th inning for a 14-1 win at St. Louis. The Cards and Diamondbacks will play today at 12:15 on KSMO starting with the pregame show at 11:20.

Bobby Witt, Jr. went 3 for 4 and drove in two keys runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to lead Kansas City to a 3-2 win over Toronto Tuesday night. The Blue Jays and Royals play again tonight in Kansas City.

Kaiden Dubois drove in the only run of the game with a 4th inning single and pitched six four-hit shutout innings as the Salem Tigers beat the Ava Bears, 1-0 and clinched at least a share of the SCA Conference Championship. Salem is 6-0 in the SCA Conference and 13-2 on the year. They will face district foe Sullivan this afternoon at 4:30. Nolan Gorman hit a two-run walkoff home run in the bottom of the 9th inning as the St. Louis Cardinals beat Arizona Monday, 5-3. Paul Goldschmidt also homered for St. Louis who snapped a four game losing streak. The Red Birds host Arizona tonight. The game will be joined after Salem Baseball around 6:30.

The Toronto Blue Jays beat Kansas City Monday night, 5-3 to send the Royals to their third straight loss. The two teams will play again tonight in Kansas City.

Salem scored 13 runs on seven hits and shutout Plato Friday, 13-0. Trethan Richter, Kash Howard, Roy Stevens and Bryar Bobbitt each had two RBI for Salem who will play Ava today at 4:30 at the SHS Field. Salem is 5-0 in the SCA Conference and 12-2 on the year. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers went 1-3 in the Salem Tournament held this past Friday and Saturday. Salem beat Bourbon Friday, 19-4; then on Saturday fell to Steelville by the score of 11-3. They then lost to Licking, 28-2 and then to Plato, 13-4. Salem is now 3-13 on the year. They will play Stoutland in Salem at 4:30 on Tuesday at the Salem City Park.

The Salem Tennis Team beat Mountain Grove Friday, 5 matches to 4 to even their season record at 5-5. They will be in Lebanon today at 4:00.

The Salem Golf team will participate in the SCA Golf Tournament today.

The Salem Middle School Track team will be at Waynesville today for their invitational.

Sonny Gray struck out 12 batters, but a two-run single by Owen Miller in the 7th inning helped Milwaukee to a 2-0 win over St. Louis and a sweep of the Cardinals. St. Louis has lost four straight as they host Arizona tonight. The game will be joined after Salem Baseball around 6:30.

The Baltimore Orioles shutout Kansas City Sunday, 5-0 and took the series from the Royals, two games to one. The Royals have now lost three of their last four games. They begin a series with Toronto tonight in Kansas City.

The Salem Baseball Tigers game at Mountain Grove Thursday was postponed. The makeup date has not yet been determined. The Tigers will play Plato today at the SHS Baseball Field Complex at 4:30. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers game with Ava was postponed Thursday and will be played on Friday, April 26th. The Lady Tigers will be playing in the Salem Eight Team Tournament today at 3:15 against Bourbon, Saturday morning at 9:00 and Saturday afternoon at 2:00 against Steelville. All games will be at the Salem City Parks.

The Salem Tigers Golf Teams took 5th at the Mountain Grove Tournament. The SCA Tournament will be held on Monday.

Yesterday afternoon Kaiden DuBois and Brooke Mahurin each signed letters of intent to continue their education and sports careers. Brooke Mahurin signed with East Central College for Softball. Kaiden DuBois will be heading south to Missouri State West Plains for Baseball. Congratulations to both of these Salem Tiger student athletes.

The Cardinals played game 3 against the Athletics yesterday and lost by a score of 3-6. The Cards scored all of their runs in the top of the 4th briefly taking the lead before the A’s responded with with three runs of their own at the bottom of the 5th. The Cardinals begin a new series vs the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow.

The Kansas City Royals played their double header vs the Chicago White Sox yesterday. The Royals and Sox split the games with the Royals winning the first game 4-2 and the Sox taking the second 1-2. The Royals play the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow evening at 6:40.

The Blues played their final game of the season against the Dallas Stars last night and 2-1 this gives them a final season record of 43-33-5.

Blues captain Brayden Schenn has been nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for the second consecutive year.

The Salem Baseball Tigers played the Liberty Eagles Monday and won by a score of 10-5. Haiden Sanders had five at bats, with 2 hits, and 3 RBIs. Kaiden Dubois pitched the majority of the game and tallied 7 strikeouts.

The Tigers also played yesterday shutting out the St. Clair Bulldogs by a score of 9-0. The Tigers’ bats came alive at the top of the 6th when they scored 8 of their 9 runs. Cory Ball took the mound for 6 innings before Roy Stevens finished out the top of the 7th with two strikeouts. The Tigers head to Mountain Grove on Thursday, the first pitch will be at 4:30.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers played Mountain Grove on Monday and lost by a score of 6-9. Then travel to East Carter yesterday and lost 15-0. The Salem Tennis Tigers shutout Liberty by a score of 9-0. They played Osage yesterday and lost by a score of 9-0. Today they’ll be on the road to attend the West Plains’ Invitational.

The Cardinals are mourning the loss of legendary Hall of Famer Dorrel ‘Whitey’ Herzog who passed away at the age of 92. He lead the Cardinals to 3 World Series in the ‘80s.
