Sonny Gray pitched seven strong innings and gave up just one run as the St. Louis Cardinals got three hits each from Nolan Arenado and Ivan Herrara and beat Pittsburgh Wednesday night, 4-2. The Cards and Pirates play this afternoon on KSMO at 12:20.
Kansas City gave up six runs in the 1st inning and the New York Yankees bats stay hot as they beat the Royals Wednesday night, 11-5. The New Yorkers slugged three more homers in this game and go for the sweep of the four-game seris this afternoon in Kansas City.

Miles Mikolas pitched outstanding going seven innings giving up only one hit, only to have Ryan Helsley gave up two runs in the top of the 9th inning as Pittsburgh beat the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday, 2-1. Nolan Gorman homered in the 9th ininng to make it close. The Cards fall into last place in the Central Division and will host the Pirates tonight on KSMO at 5:50.
The New York Yankees banged out ten hits that included three homers as they scored ten runs in bombing the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night, 10-1. Freddie Fermin homered for the only Royals’s run. The Royals play the Yankees again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium

The St. Louis Cardinals were off Monday and will host the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight on KSMO at 5:50.
Seth Lugo went seven innings for Kansas City and gave up more than two runs for just the second time this year as the new York Yankees beat Kansas city Monday, 4-2. Bobby Witt, Jr. and Freddie Fermin drove in runs for the Royals who play the Yankees again tonight.

Andre Pallante pitched five shutout innings giving up only three hits as the St. Louis Cardinals split the series with Colorado, winning Sunday, 5-1. Alec Burleson homered and Masyn Winn had two hits and two RBI. The Cardinals will be off today and host the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday on KSMO Radio at 5:50.
MJ Melendez two-run homer in the bottom of the 9th tied the game, but Seattle scored three runs in the 10th to beat Kansas City, 6-5. Hunter Renfro hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th, but it wasn’t enough for the comeback. The Royals host the New York Yankees tonight.

The St. Louis Cardinals went 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position Thursday night, and Sonny Gray went 4 2/3rds inings giving up only only two hits and three runs, but took the loss as Colorado beat St. Louis, 3-2. Maysn Winn had two hits for the Red Birds who have lost six of their last ten games. The Cards and Rockies play again tonight at 6:20, Saturday at 2:20 and Sunday at 12:20 on KSMO Radio.
Kyle Isbel’s 8th inning RBI single broke a 3-3 tie and propelled Kansas City to a 4-3 win over Cleveland Thursday afternoon. Hunter Renfro and Vinnie Pasquantino each had two hits for Kansas City who begin a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

Salem Lady Tiger Basketball Coach Cody Woody will be holding a Youth Salem Lady Tiger Basketball Camp at the Salem High School starting Monday and lasting through Friday, June 13th. The cost for the camp is $30 per athlete and each girl will receive a camp T-shirt. The morning camp for the 3rd through 5th grade girls will be held from 11:00 to 12:00; the camp for the 6th through 8th grade girls will be from 9:30 until 10:30; and the camp for girls in 9th through the 12th grade will be from 8:00 until 9:30. Contact Coach Woody to get a camp form to fill out at cody.woody@salemr80.org. Please include the camp fee (checks can be made out to Cody Woody) when girls bring their completed form to the first day of camp at the high school gym.

Ryan Helsley got his 20th save of the year retiring three straight batters in the 9th inning. The Cards start a four-game series with Colorado tonight at Busch Stadium.
The Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Guardians game Wednesday night was postponed due to rain and will be made up on August 26th. The Royals and Guardians will play this afternoon in Cleveland.

Yainer Diaz hit a three-run homer to cap a four-run 3rd inning that propelled Houston to an 8-5 win over St. Louis Tuesday night. Alec Burleson and Nolan Gorman homered for the Cards who have lost four of their last five games. They will play the Astros today at 12:15 on KSMO.
Kansas City jumped out to a 5-0 lead only to have the Cleveland Guardians rally to come back and beat the Royals Tuesday night, 8-5. Bobby Witt Jr. crushed a pair of two-run homers, but his throwing error in the eighth allowed three runs to score in the five-run inning. The Royals and Guardians square off again tonight in Cleveland.

Houston scored four 8th inning runs on a game tying homer by Alex Bregman and the game winning two-run homer by Yanier Diaz as they beat St. Louis, 7-4. The Cardinals will be in Houston tonight to face the Astros for a three-game series beginning at 6:15 on KSMO Radio.
The Kansas City Royals were off Monday and they will start a three-game series tonight in Cleveland against the Guardians.

Nolan Gorman’s RBI single in the 10th drove home the winning run as St. Louis beat the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday night, 5-4. The Red Birds had dropped the first two games of the series. Gorman and Alec Burleson each had two-run homers for St. Louis who committed three errors in the game. The Cardinals will be in Houston tonight to face the Astros for a three-game series beginning at 6:15 on KSMO Radio.
Down two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning with runners on first and second, Kansas City’s Nelson Velázquez ripped his first triple of the season to the center-field wall, tying the game with no outs, then scored the winning run on Nick Loftin’s sacrifice fly to right field, and the Royals ended the weekend with a 4-3 walk-off win at Kauffman Stadium. The win snapped the Royal’s losing streak at three. They will have the day off before starting a three-game series against Minnesota Tuesday.

The St. Louis Cardinals were off Thursday and will be in Philadelphia this weekend to face the Phillies starting today at 4:45. Saturday’s game will be at 5:20 and the game on Sunday will begin at 5:15. All the games cane be heard on KSMO Radio AM 1340 and FM 95.7.
The Kansas City Royals blew a 4-0 lead as Minnesota’s Ryan Jeffers hit two homers as the Twins came back for a 7-6 win Thursday to take 3 out of 4 games in the series. The Royals will host San Diego this weekend.
The St. Louis Battlehawks will play the San Antonio Brahmas at The Dome at America’s Center this Saturday afternoon starting at 3:00 in United Football League action. The Battlehawks enter the game with a 6-3 record and San Antonio is 7-2.
