The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves split a day-night doubleheader Wednesday with Atlanta winning the first game, 6-2; with the Cardinals winning the second game, 4-1. Alec Burleson’s two-run double was the key hit in the Cards win. The Red Birds begin a four game series with Cincinnati tonight at 5:50 on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals scored five runs in the 8th inning with two-outs sparked by Bobby Witt’s triple as they went on to beat the Miami Marlins, 5-1 Wednesday. The Royals will host Cleveland to start a four game series tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves game scheduled for Tuesday night was postponed due to rain and will be made up today as part of a day-night doubleheader. The first pre-game show will start at 11:50 this morning and the second game pre-game show will be held at 5:20. Both games can be heard on KSMO.

Seth Lugo pitched six shutout innings for Kansas City giving up only two hits while striking out eight batters, but an error by pitcher Will Smith in the 7th inning allowed Miami two score two runs and they held on to beat the Royals Tuesday night, 2-1. The Royals host Miami this afternoon in the rubber game of the series at Kaufmann Stadium.

Brendan Donovan had three hits and an RBI while Alec Burleson had two hits and an RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Atlanta Braves Monday, 4-3. Lance Lynn went 6 2/3rds innings giving up four hits and a run. The Red Birds tallied all four runs in the 3rd inning and Ryan Helsley got his 27th save. The Cards play Atlanta again tonight at 5:50 on KSMO.

Salvador Perez and Vinnie Pasquantino hit back-to-back homers and the Kansas City Royals beat the Miami Marlins Monday to snap a three-game losing streak, 4-1 Hunter Renfro added a solo homer for the Royals who will host Miami again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

Sonny Gray was perfect for 6 2/3rds innings before giving up a homer to Patrick Bailey, finishing with a one-hitter over seven innings to lead the St. Louis Cardinals past the San Francisco Giants Sunday, 5-3 and the Red Birds swept the three game series. Alec Burleson drove in two runs while Brendan Donovan, Brendon Crawford and Matt Carpenter drove in the others. The Cards start a three-game series with Atlanta tonight at 5:50 on KSMO.

The Texas Rangers beat Kansas City Sunday, 5-0 after shutting out the Royals Saturday, 6-0, and swept the three-game series. Kansas City will host Miami in a three-game series beginning tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

In a game held at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama to honor the Negro Leagues, Brendan Donovan went 3-4 and drove in three runs including the game winner as the St. Louis Cardinals beat San Francisco Thursday, 6-5. Nolan Gorman drove in two runs with sacrifice flies. The Cards are off today before playing the Giants Saturday and Sunday at 12:20 on KSMO.

Bobby Witt’s lead-off home run in the top of the 8th inning Thursday held up as the Kansas City Royals escaped Oakland with a 3-2 win over the struggling A’s, losing two of the three games. Freddie Fermin slugged two solo home runs for the other Royals’ runs. Kansas City will begin a three-game series in Texas against the Rangers.

Otto Lopez singled in the bottom of the 9th inning as Miami walked off the fiel with a win for the second straight game beatin St. Louis, 4-3. Nolan Gorman homered for the Cardinals who will be at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama today to face San Francisco today at 5:20 on KSMO Radio.

Kansas City lost to the Oakland A’s again Wednesday night by the score of 5-1 for their 8th loss in their last ten games. They will wrap up their series this afternoon.

The St. Louis Cardinals had home runs from Brendan Donovan, Paul Goldschmidt and Alec Burleson, but lost to Miami in 10 innings, 9-8. The two teams play at 10:45 this morning on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals lost to the Oakland A’s last night in the opener of their series, 7-5. The two teams will continue their series against Oakland tonight in the bay area.

Maysn Winn’s two-run homer in the top of the 12th inning help lead the Cardinals to a 7-6 win over the Miami Marlins. Ivan Herrara had a two-run RBI single in the game and Michael Siani homered for St. Louis while Dylan Carlson threw out the tying run from right field in the 12th inning. Sonny Gray pitched 7 2/3rds inning of five hit, two-run ball in the no decision. The Cards face the Marlins again this afternoon starting at 4:15 with the pre-game show and 5:10 will be game time on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals were off Monday and will begin a three-game series with Oakland A’s tonight.

Pedro Pagés hits his first major league homerun on Friday that helped the Cardinals to a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs behind the superb pitching of Kyle Gibson who gave up two hits over seven innings. After losing to Chicago Saturday, 5-1, Pagés homered again in the third game Sunday, a two-run shot that propelled the Cardinals to a 2-1 victory to win the series, two game to one. Miles Mikolas had another strong outing going 6 1/3 innings giving up one run on four hits. The Cardinals are at the .500 mark with a 35-35 record. They will be in Miami to face the Marlins tonight at 4:45 on KSMO. Tomorrow night, the game will be moved up 1/2 hour due to the Florida Panthers Stanley Cup Playoff game and will start at 4:15.

Kansas City fell to the LA Dodgers Sunday, 3-0 and lost the series, two games to one as KC won Saturday, 7-2. They will be off today before starting a 3-game series Tuesday in Oakland.

Brendan Donovan’s solo homer in the 6th inning proved to be the difference as the St. Louis Cardinals beat Pittsburgh Thursday, 4-3 to take the series, two games to one. Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer that put him in to the top 100 players in baseball with 381 career homers. The Cardinals will be in Chicago to start a three game series this afternoon at 12:25, Saturday at 12:25 and 11:30 Sunday morning on KSMO.

Maikel Garcia’s two-run double in the bottom of the 9th inning gave the Kansas City Royals a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the New York Yankees, salvaging one game of the four game series. The win also snapped a Royal four-game losing streak. It doesn’t get easier as the Royals will be in Los Angeles to face the Dodgers this weekend.
