The St. Louis Cardinals announced they have completed a trade Tuesday with the Tampa Bay Rays, acquiring right-handed pitcher Shawn Armstrong in exchange for outfielder Dylan Carlson. The 33-year-old Armstrong has appeared in 38 games for the Rays this season, including seven starts, posting a 2-2 mark with a 5.40 ERA.
The St. Louis Cardinals played the Texas Rangers yesterday and beat them soundly by a score of 10-1. The Cards took the series 2-1, and they’ll start a new series versus the Cubs today at 7:05 with the pregame show kicking off at 6:10, tune into KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM to listen live.

The St. Louis Cardinals played the Texas Rangers yesterday and after a short rain delay pushed the game start time back it was the Cards that would score first, but the headline of the night was the recently reacquired Tommy Pham hitting a grand slam home run that allowed the Cardinals to cruise by the Rangers 8-1. The Kansas City Royals beat the White Sox yesterday 4-3. Early on the White Sox would take the lead in the first, but the Royals tied things up on a Michael Massey home run. Then a three run eighth inning would secure the victory. They’ll go for the series sweep this afternoon at 1:10.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced they have completed a three-team trade with the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers by acquiring top-rated American League starting pitcher Erick Fedde and former Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham from the White Sox, while utility player Tommy Edman and minor league right-handed pitcher Oliver Gonzalez were sent to the Dodgers. The Cardinals will also receive a player to be named later from the Dodgers and cash considerations from the White Sox.

The Kansas City Royals played the White Sox yesterday, this was an exciting one for the Royals as there were three lead changes before the 8th inning where Kansas City found themselves down 2-5. Then in the top of the eighth inning with a 9.4% win probability, according to MLB.com, the Royals would knock two home runs and one grand slam home run out of the park. This would put them up 8-5 and swing their win probability 83 percentage points. The score would go unchanged in the ninth for a Royals win. Game two will be this evening at 7:10.

The St. Louis Cardinals played the Washington Nationals over the weekend. The Cards would drop the first two games 8-10 and 3-14. Game 3 came down to the wire but in the bottom of the ninth Paul Goldschmidt would hit a walk off home run, winning the game 4-3. Both the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals had the day off yesterday after the each of them lost their last games and series. Tough run for the Missouri Baseball clubs.

The Cards will have the day off today, then tomorrow they’ll come home to face off with the Washington Nationals. The Kansas City Royals played the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday evening. It was a back and forth type of game in the second and fifth innings, but then with the Royals leading by a run in the top of the ninth the Diamondbacks blew the game wide open on Moreno double and Marte three run home run. The Royals would go on to lose 6-8. Kansas City has the day off today as they regroup to play the Cubs on Friday.

Lance Lynn recorded his 2,000th strikeout for his career as the St. Louis Cardinals played the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday. The Cards came out with the close 2-1 victory. With the series tied the Cardinals and Pirates will play their final game this morning at 11:35, pregame will start at 10:40 and you can hear it all live on KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM.
The Kansas City Royals played the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday and after the Diamondbacks jumped up to a 3-0 the Royals would be unable to recover and lose 2-6. The series tiebreaker is tonight at 7:10.

The St. Louis Cardinals played their first of three games versus the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday. In a very close game the Cards just couldn’t muster more than a single run. They would go on to lose the game 1-2. Game two versus the Pirates will be this afternoon at 5:40, which you can hear live on your hometown radio station KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM.
The Kansas City Royals played the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday to begin a three game series of their own. They would fare much better tallying 15 hits, on their way to sail past the Diamondbacks with a 10-4 victory. Game two of their series will be another late night affair, with the first pitch set for tonight at 7:10.

The St. Louis Cardinals played a three game series versus the Braves in Atlanta. First with a double header on Friday, in game one, they would lose by a single run 2-3. Then in the second game, the red birds would have no trouble with the Braves, leading for nearly the entire game and winning with a final score of 9-5. Then yesterday the Cards would secure the series 2-1 with a 6-2 victory. The Cards now own a winning record both home and away. They will play the Pirates today at 5:40, which you can hear on KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM.
The Kansas City Royals took to their home diamond after the All-Star break and faced the White Sox. They would have no trouble putting down the Sox, notching up three victories, 7-1, 6-1, and 4-1, to sweep the series. The Royals will play the Diamondbacks tomorrow night at 7:10.

Graveside service and interment for Dolores Vera Kreamalmyer of Steelville, age 97, will be held 11:00 this morning at the Freeman Cemetery in Cherryville. All the arrangements are under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville.
Funeral services for William “Bill” Roy Parsons will be this morning at 11:00 in the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 until time of service. Memorials are suggested to the Parsons’ family.
Funeral services for Gary Lee Fiebelmann of Salem, age 78, will be held Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Salem Chapel of James and Gahr Chapel Mortuary.. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening. Interment will be in the Boss Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Boss Cemetery.
