The Kansas City Royals played a doubleheader yesterday versus the Cleveland Guardians. In game one the Royals would get all four runs on two home runs defeating the Guardians, 4-3. In game two, the Royals would defeat the Guardians by a much wider margin, 9-4. Five of those runs were scored off of a Salvador Perez single home run and a grand slam home run. The St. Louis Cardinals played the Minnesota Twins on Friday. The Twins would go up early in the second, 1-0. Then the Cardinals would proceed to shutout the Twins for the remainder of the game while scoring 6 runs. On Saturday the roles would be reversed as the Twins shutout the Cards, 6-0. Yesterday, the Red Birds would rally late in the ninth to win, 3-2 and the overall series, 2-1. Today, St. Louis plays the San Diego Padres. Yesterday, the game got off to a slow start, and a rain delay early but that wouldn’t stop the Royals from getting the series sweep, winning the game 8-1. Today they face the Los Angeles Angels this evening at 7:10.
