The St. Louis Blues played the Buffalo Sabres last night and extended their losing streak with a 4-3 loss. The Blues got on the board first with a Brandon Saad slap shot just a few minutes into the game. The Sabres would battle with a pair of goals in the second and one in the third to tie up the game late and force overtime. Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin would score the winning goal.

The Mizzou Basketball Tigers faced off against the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils last night and won in dominant fashion, taking home a 111-39 Tiger victory. Mizzou’s next game is a week away against the Pacific Tigers.

The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Buffalo to take on the 8-2 Bills this Sunday afternoon at 3:25. You can watch this game on multiple streaming platforms and CBS will be hosting the televised broadcast.

The St. Louis Blues played the Boston Bruins last night and lost, 3-2. It was a scoreless first period but in the second the Blues would score twice on a power play to lead going into the third. The Mizzou Basketball Tigers played the Eastern Washington Eagles last night and picked up their second win of the season by a score of 84-77. Missouri’s three point game stood out as they were 10 of 18 on the night, accounting for over a third of all Tiger scoring. The Tigers were also more disciplined then the Eagles picking up 12 less fouls and shooting 71% on the free throw line. Mizzou will play the 1-1 Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils next at 6:30 Thursday night.

The St. Louis Blues played the Washington Capitals Saturday night and the Capitals scored five goals in the third period giving them the 8-1 victory over the Blues. The Mizzou Football Tigers played the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday. After a scoreless first quarter the Sooners took the lead at the half 9-3. The Tigers responded in the 3rd with a Drew Pyne touchdown pass to Theo Wease. Scoring would open up for both teams in the 4th but Missouri would hold on for the 30-23 win with a Zion Young fumble recovery, scoop and score. Next on the schedule for the Tigers are the 6-3 South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.

The Kansas City Chiefs remain undefeated as they defeated the Denver Broncos 16-14. The Broncos held the lead for the majority of the contest and had a chance to win as time expired but a field goal block by the Kansas City Defense sealed the victory as the Chiefs are now 9-0 traveling to Buffalo next Sunday to take on the 8-2 Bills in a highly anticipated AFC matchup.

Salem Cross Country runner Alex Diehl finished 6th in district cross country and has qualified to run in the state cross country championships this Saturday.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers had two girls named to the All-SCA Conference teams. Addison Fulton was named to the All-SCA Conference 2nd Team while Reagan DuBois made the All-SCA Honorable Mention Team. Congratulations ladies on your fine season.

The St. Louis Blues played the Utah Hockey Club last night and while Colton Parayko and Jordan Kyrou were able to get goals in for the Blues it wasn’t enough for the win as the Blues fell 4-2.

Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and pitcher Seth Lugo took home Rawlings Gold Glove Awards at their respective positions in the American League this season in a ceremony announced Sunday night. It’s the first career Gold Glove for both Witt and Lugo and the first time Kansas City has had a Gold Glove winner since 2021, when left fielder Andrew Benintendi and center fielder Michael A. Taylor won awards at their positions. Witt is just the second Royals shortstop to win the award behind Alcides Escobar in 2015. Only one other Royals pitcher had won a Gold Glove before Lugo and that was Bret Saberhagen in 1989. None of the three St. Louis Cardinals nominees were chosen to receive the Gold Glove.

The Kansas City Royals have signed pitcher Michael Wacha to a three-year contract extension, effective for the 2025 season thru 2027, with an option for 2028. The deal is worth up to $72 million over four years and replaces his existing two-year agreement, which included the player option for the next season. Wacha will earn a base of $51 million over the three guaranteed years, with potential bonuses that could increase his annual earnings. The contract extension follows a strong season by the Kansas City Royals.

Recently acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had 8 receptions for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns to help the Chiefs to an overtime victory, 30-24. The Chiefs play the 5-4 Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon at noon. The game will be televised by CBS and streamed on multiple platforms.

Mountain Grove Quarterback Aden Estep ran for two scores and passed for another as the Panthers beat the Salem Football Tigers Friday night in Class 3, District 5 play, 42-8. The Panthers’ Destin Unger ran for 112 yards and two scores, while Reuben Hovey ran the ball 15 times for 92 yards for the Tigers. Andrew Harris scored the lone Salem touchdown and added the two-point conversion as well. Salem finished the year with a 2-8 record. Mountain Grove will be at Mount Vernon Friday in the district semi-final.

The St. James Football Tigers beat Cuba Friday night, 33-26 to move onto the Class 3, District 5 semi-final this Friday night against the Strafford Indians starting at 7:00 in Strafford.

Colton Parayko scored two goals and added an assist as the St. Louis Blues beat Toronto Saturday night at the Enterprise Center, 4-2. Jordan Kyrou and Pavel Buchnevich also scored for St. Louis who will play Tampa Bay Tuesday night at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.

The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs play the 4-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight starting at 7:15. The televised broadcast will be on ABC and ESPN.
