The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers played the St. Clair Lady Bulldogs last night at the Sullivan High School Gym in postseason play. The Lady Tigers lost in three matches 25-15, 25-14, and 25-18. This concludes the Lady Tiger Season.
The Salem Football Tigers are in action at 7:00 tonight versus the Bulldogs from Cabool. This game will be live on KSMO 1340 AM and 95.7 FM as well as KSMO Media’s social media platforms on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook. Tiger Talk will start approximately 20 minutes before kickoff.
The Blues played the Toronto Maple Leafs last night and early on the Blues went up on a pair of goals and never relinquished the lead, beating the Maple Leafs 5-1. The Blues are off today.
The St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals are both well represented in this year’s nominations for Gold Glove recipients. Three St. Louis Cardinals are in the running to receive a National League Gold Glove. They are shortstop Masyn Winn, 3rd baseman Nolan Arenado and utility player Brendan Donovan. Four Kansas City Royals players are being considered for an American League Gold Glove. Those players are shortstop Bobby Witt, Jr., catcher Freddy Fermin and pitchers Cole Ragans and Seth Lugo. The winners for each league will be announced on Sunday, November 3rd.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers faced the Lady Wildcats of Cuba in the first round of the Class 3, District playoffs and emerged victorious in three straight sets: 25-20. 25-21 and 25-22. Unofficially, Addison Fulton led Salem with 11 kills while Taylor Fulton finished with seven kills. Reagan Dubois and Abryanna Hawn ended up with six kills each. Salem will play the St. Clair Lady Bulldogs Thursday night at 5:00 at the Sullivan High School Gym. That game will NOT be aired on KSMO Radio or MSHSAA.TV due to a prior commitment.
Monday night at the SHS Field in the final JV Football game of the year, the Salem Tiger JV football Tigers came out victorious in a hard fought game against the JV Eagles of Mountain View-Liberty. The final score was 26-20.
The Blues faced the undefeated Winnipeg Jets last night. In the first period the Blues would go up 1-0 on a Brandon Saad goal. The second period had a trio of Jets goals giving Winnipeg the lead 3-1. In the third period Saad would tack on a second goal but it wouldn’t be enough to get the win as the Blues lost 3-2. The Blues are back in action tomorrow night against the Maple Leafs of Toronto. Tonight the Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers begin their postseason run as they’ll be traveling to Sullivan to face off with the Cuba Lady Wildcats in the Class 3 District 9 Tournament. The game can be heard on KSMO 1340 AM and 95.7 FM with Tiger Talk starting at approximately 4:50. You can also watch the match on MSHSAA.tv for a fee determined by MSHSAA.
The Blues will be in action tonight versus the Winnipeg Jets. You can listen to this game live on KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM. The puck hits the ice at 7:00 with pregame starting at 6:30 or immediately following the Lady Tigers Volleyball postseason game versus Cuba.

Parker Tune scored four touchdowns for Mountain View-Liberty: two on pass receptions, one rushing and one on a fumble recovery to help lead the Eagles past Salem Friday night, 65-0. Quarterback Gavin Reese was 15-21 passing for 302 yards and threw four touchdown passes, while running back Jaren Rutledge added three rushing touchdowns to the Mountain View-Liberty attack. Salem is 1-7 on the season and 1-5 in the SCA Conference and will wrap up their regular season this Friday night against Cabool and it will be Senior Night. The game will begin at 7:00 at the SHS Football Field and Bill Schuchardt Stadium.
The Salem JV Football Tigers will host Mountain View-Liberty tonight at 6:00 in the season finale at the SHS Football Field.
Jamal Roberts four-yard touchdown run with 46 seconds remaining in the game gave the Missouri Tigers a 21-17 come from behind victory over Auburn on Saturday. Trailing 17-3 early in the 3rd quarter, the Tigers came back on a 38-yard field goal by Blake Craig midway through the 3rd quarter followed by a Marcus Carroll touchdown early in the 4th quarter, before the 17-play game winning drive that started with just over 4:30 minutes left. Missouri is now 6-1 and 2-1 in the SEC Conference. They will be at Alabama Saturday to face the Crimson Tide at 2:30.
Kasperi Kapanen’s third period goal at 4:26 of the third period proved to be the game winner as the St. Louis Blues beat the Carolina Hurricane Saturday night at Enterprise Center, 4-3. Mathieu Joseph and Jake Neighbours each had a goal and an assist Saturday night, while Dylan Holloway scored his first goal with the Blues. Joel Hofer made 37 saves for St. Louis which has won two straight and will play Winnipeg Tuesday night after Lady Tiger Volleyball on KSMO Radio.
In a rematch of Super Bowl 54 and 58, the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in regular season play. On the back of four rushing touchdowns the Chiefs would go on to beat the 49ers 28-18. Due to a Minnesota Vikings loss the Chiefs are the last undefeated team in the NFL after 8 weeks and play the 2-5 Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday afternoon at 3:25.

The Salem Middle School Football Tigers 7th grade team beat the West Plains Zizzers 48-8 last night. The 8th grade Tigers beat the Zizzers 40-0 in their game. Both Middle School teams went UNDEFEATED in their 2024 campaigns!
The Salem Lady Volleyball Varsity Tigers fell to the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers Thursday night in their regular season finale in three straight sets: 25-8, 26-24 and 25-15. Addison Fulton led the Lady Tigers with 16 kills in the three games. Salem finished the season with a 7-23-2 record and will face the Cuba Lady Wildcats Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 in Class 3, District 9 play. KSMO will broadcast the game on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and FM 95.7). It will also be streamed on MSHSAA.TV and there is a cost to watch the match.
The Salem Volleyball JV Lady Tigers beat the Mountain Grove Volleyball JV Lady Panthers in three sets, winning the first set, 25-15; then losing the second set, 12-25. The third set went to Salem as the Lady Tigers won 25-18 to finish the season with a 7-6 record.
The Salem Football Tigers host the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles tonight in SCA Conference play. Salem is 1-6 on the year and 1-4 in the SCA while Mountain View is 5-2 with a 4-1 SCA Conference record. The Missouri Football Tigers will host Auburn Saturday at 11:00 in SEC Conference Play. KSMO Radio will join the game near halftime around 1:00 due to a prior commitment. Missouri is 5-1 on the year and 1-1 in the SEC Conference.
The St. Louis Blues hosted the New York Islanders last night and it would take overtime to find a winner in this contest. Jake Neighbours scored at 2:04 to give the Blues the victory. The next Blues game will be versus the Carolina Hurricanes at 6:00 tomorrow night. You can tune into KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM to hear this game live with pregame at 5:30.

The Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers will be in action tonight against the Lady Panthers of Mountain Grove. This will be the last home game of the regular season for the Lady Tigers. The West Plains 7th and 8th grade Football Zizzers are coming to Salem to face the undefeated Tigers during their Pink Out game this evening. This is the last game of the regular season for the Middle School Football Tigers. During their undefeated run the 7th grade Tigers have only allowed 14 points while scoring 241 points of their own. With one fewer game on the season, the 8th grade Tigers have also only allowed 14 points scored as well while scoring 210 of their own. The 7th grade game starts at 5:30 with 8th grade to follow at 6:30.
The Mountain Grove Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams are coming to Salem to participate in a meet with the Salem Tigers. Use caution while driving in the area around the Salem High School and Middle School campus.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to the Mountain View-Liberty Lady Eagles Tuesday night in three straight sets: 25-10, 25-14 and 25-17. Salem falls to 7-22-2 on the year and 2-4 in the SCA Conference. In the game, Mountain View-Liberty’s libero, senior Kaylie Wagner, recorded her 1,000 career dig. The Salem Lady Tigers will play Mountain Grove Thursday in their regular season finale starting around 7:00 at the SHS Gym. The game will be video streamed on KSMO Media.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers are seeded 4th in the Class 3, District 9 tournament beginning Tuesday night in Sullivan at 5:00. Salem will face the 5th seeded Cuba Lady Wildcats at 5:00 and the game will be on KSMO Radio and video streamed on KSMO Media through MSHSAA TV.
The Salem Volleyball Lady JV Tigers lost to Mountain View-Liberty Tuesday night in two straight sets, 25-20 and 25-22. The JV Lady Tigers are 6-6 on the year. The Lady JV Tigers will play Mountain Grove in their season finale at 5:30 Thursday night.
The Salem JV Football Tigers lost to Mountain Grove Monday night, 30-0. Their last game will be Monday night against Mountain-View Liberty in Salem starting at 6:00.
The Salem 7th and 8th Grade Football Tigers will host West Plains Thursday night in the season finale at the SHS Football field starting with the 7th grade at 5:30 followed by the 8th grade game. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams are undefeated going into that game.
The St. Louis Blues played their home opener last night against the Minnesota Wild. The Wild would manage 3 goals before the Blues could respond with a Mathieu Joseph goal at 9:50 in the 3rd. The last goal of the night was a Filip Gustavsson, the Wild’s Goalie, unassisted goal into an empty net with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game. The St. Louis Blues are back in action and will play their home opener this evening versus the Minnesota Wild. The Blues are 2-1 on the year with wins over the Seattle Kraken and San Jose Sharks. The Wild are the inverse with a 1-2 record with their lone win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. The puck drops at 6:30 tonight, and you can tune in to listen live on KSMO Radio 1340 AM & 95.7 FM with the pregame show at 6:00.
The Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers will be in action tonight versus the Liberty (Mountain View) Lady Eagles. Salem’s JV team is 5-5 on the year while Liberty is 6-4. The Varsity Lady Tigers are 6-21-2 and Liberty is 15-9-5. JV’s game starts at 5:30 with Varsity to follow at approximately 7:00 tonight. Tonight’s game will be the Pink Out game, supporting all those women and men who’s lives have been touched by cancer. The Mountain Grove Panthers Friday night scored on all nine of their possessions to beat the Salem Football Tigers, 60-6. The Panthers were led by their quarterback Aden Estep who ran the ball for two scores and threw for another, and running back Braydon Curtiss ran the ball six times for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Mountain Grove finished with 576 yards in total offense for the game. Jeven Blair scored the lone Salem Tigers touchdown. Salem is 1-6 on the year, 1-4 in the SCA Conference and they will host Mountain View-Liberty Friday night at 7:00.
The Salem JV Tigers will be at Mountain Grove tonight to face the Panthers at 6:00.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will be at Plato tonight starting with the freshman match at 5:00, the JV contest at 5:30 and the varsity match around 7:00.
The Salem Tiger Cross Country Team will be at Willow Springs today for their next meet.
On Saturday the Missouri Tigers faced off with the UMass Minutemen and held the Minutemen to 3 points on the day as they went on to win 45-3.
The St. Louis Blues lost their game against the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Friday by a score of 4-3. After three games on the road the Blues are 2-1 on the season and look to play their home opener tomorrow evening versus Minnesota.
