The Salem Football Tigers will travel to Houston face the Tigers in their first SCA Conference game of the year. Both team come into the game with 2-0 records. Game time is 7:00 and you can hear the game on KSMO Radio starting at about 6:30 with Tiger Talk and Coach Dylan Wyrick. The game and Tiger Talk will also be streamed on ksmoradio.com.

It was a wild softball game at the Salem City Park between Salem and Vienna Thursday afternoon. Salem had a 2-1 lead going into the 4th inning when Vienna scored seven runs to take an 8-2 lead only to have Salem respond with six runs of their own and tie the game, 8-8. Vienna then got two more runs in the 5th inning and Salem got one back in the bottom of the 5th inning and tied the game in the bottom of the 7th on a bass loaded walk. Each team had chances in the extra innings, but Vienna took the lead for good when Gabby Wilkinson doubled home two runs in the top of the 9th inning. Salem falls to 4-2 with the loss and will be at Waynesville Monday to take on the Lady Tigers Monday at 4:30.

The St. Louis Cardinals slugged four leadoff home runs Thursday against Colorado and finished the game with five homers as they defeated the Rockies, 10-3. Kolton Wong and Matt Carpenter each had two RBI for the Cards who will start a three game series with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Busch Stadium. The game tonight will be delayed until after Salem Tiger Football at 9:15. The game Saturday will be at 6:15 and Sunday’s game at 1:15. You can hear those games on KSMO starting with the pre-game show 55 minutes prior to the game start time.

Hunter Dozier’s 6th inning three-run homer proved to be the difference Thursday as the Kansas City Royal beat the Chicago White Sox, 6-3. Jorge Soler hit his 44th homer of the season in the game. The Royals will host the Houston Astros in a three game series starting tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

The Missouri Tigers will host Southeast Missouri State Saturday night at Faurot Field starting at 6:30. KSMO will join the game in progress after the Cards baseball game. Missouri is 1-1 on the season.
